Description

Hello and congratulations! You have survived your training long enough to read this manual. Inside, you will find information to aid you in your training to become the complete Catachan Jungle Fighter (otherwise known by the accurately nicknamed title of “Catachan Devil”).

Recommended armament is as follows:

  • PRIMARY: Any of the standard issue MK I, MK IV, or MK VII “Devil's Claw” Swords. All maintain similar performance, and are only separated by their appearance of design.
*Note: the Munitorium issued Power Swords are reserved only for commissioned officers only. Although if You happen to come across an unclaimed power weapon during faithful service, You may keep it upon expiration of life, as long as it is issued for registry within Militarum records.)
**Note: it is highly recommended against using the Catachan Mk III Combat Blade, regardless of how popular it is among fellow soldiers. Although much faster and more agile than previously mentioned blades, the Combat Blade is limited in its defensive capabilities in comparison. Those who are proficient with using small blades, however, have found much success in implemented rapid movements and frequent dodge tactics upon entering melee combat. This does, unfortunately, leave You open to being surrounded quite easily, so keep your head on a swivel and your wits actively about. Should this blade become your weapon of choice, you will then be assigned a toe-attached genetic identifier upon every deployment to aid the Officio Administratum of your eventual quick demise.
  • SECONDARY: Any of the standard issue Braced, Infantry, or Headhunter Autoguns, or any of the standard issue Recon or Infantry Lasguns. All maintain similar performance with only slight variations on firing speeds and ammo capacities. If you are exceptionally accurate on the field of battle, then you will be recommended the Helbore variant, as it contains a high capacitating inducer mechanism allowing for more powerful single shots to be performed.
*Note: the Lawbringer MK VI Combat Shotgun is reserved for front line Catachan soldiers. Normally issued to the Adeptus Arbites, its utility and effectiveness in close quarters cannot be denied. This remains a popular choice for those foolish enough to pair it with the Catachan Mk III Combat Blade or any of the “Devil's Claw” Sword variants.
**Note: the Locke Mk IIb Spearheard Boltgun, the M35 Magnacore Mk II Plasma Gun, and the Zarona Mk IIa Quickdraw Stub Revolver are only issued on a case by case basis. Use of these sidearms contain a high risk of danger, regardless of their power per shot damage ratio. Choosing use of any of these weapons must be approved by your immediate ranking field commander, or by special notice assigned by the Adminstratum.
  • ADDITIONAL ARMAMENTS: Standard Issue Frag Grenades are the Catachan Devil's ace in the hole. While the primary and secondary weapons remain the standard Imperium soldier's bread and butter, the frag grenade was and remains still the crux of turning the tides of any ground fight. Keep these close at hand should a horde swell well out of control. Use them liberally to clear a path in a clogged choke point, or ahead of an oncoming rush. Follow up with your weapons at your discretion to claim victory for The Imperium and The Emperor!

Should you choose any other primary and secondary weapon combination other than the previously recommended armaments, please note that the responsibility remains upon You, The Soldier, to live with the fact of increasing the chances of your own death a thousand fold.

The Emperor protects.
