Description
"What if I had a gun that… shot other guns?" - Jinx
This build transforms the Branx MkIII Dual Autopistols into a weapon capable of near-endless, sustained high damage. It achieves this by focusing all resources on three intertwined goals:
- Near-Zero Ability Cooldown: Gear and talents drastically reduce the downtime of your main combat ability, ensuring the maximum damage output is available almost constantly.
- Instant Reloads: Weapon setup and talents achieve a near-instant reload speed, eliminating downtime in your firing cycle.
- Infinite Ammo: Killing Elites and Specialists instantly replenishes your ammunition reserve, meaning you never need to worry about conservative shooting.
Why This Build is Effective
- Sustained DPS: You can maintain a massive, stacking damage buff on your pistols virtually 100% of the time, providing one of the highest sustained damage outputs on the class.
- High Mobility: Talents enable an aggressive dodge/slide playstyle, making you difficult to hit while you maintain consistent fire. You are fast, nimble, and hard to pin down.
- Crisis Button: Using a Stimm grants an immediate and significant power surge, dramatically accelerating your ability cooldown, improving your toughness, and boosting your critical strike chance.
Effective Playstyle
Your entire focus is on uptime, close-range aggression, and correctly prioritizing your abilities.
The Firing Cycle
- Get Close: The build is optimized for close-to-mid range fighting for maximum damage.
- Establish Fire: Begin firing the Branx MkIII Dual Autopistols until the first magazine is almost empty.
- Activate the Damage Buff: As you are nearing the end of your first magazine, activate your Enhanced Desperado .
- Maintain Fire: This precise activation timing ensures the massive damage bonus from your weapon is immediately applied and maintained for the full duration of your ability.
- Reload Instantly: When you reload, the speed is so high that the downtime is negligible. Your quick ability cooldown ensures you can repeat this cycle almost immediately.
Blitz & Utility
- Missile Launcher (Boom Bringer): This is your anti-elite/monstrosity burst tool. Use it when a high-value armored target appears.
- Melee (Improvised Mk I Shivs): Only use your melee weapon to apply damage-over-time debuffs (like Bleed/Toxin) on a high-health target before quickly switching back to the pistols to maximize the damage.
- Stimm Usage: Treat stimms not as healing, but as a cooldown reset/power spike. Use a stimm right before tackling a major threat (e.g., a Monstrosity or sudden surge of Elites) to dramatically accelerate your ability uptime and boost your lethality.
As cool as this build is thematically, and fun to play, I would not take it into Havoc.
- Boom Bringer DOES NOT benefit from ranged damage effects, only from your stimm and The Sweet Spot . This blitz is inferior in every possible way when compared to Veteran's Krak Grenade .
- Hive Scum is extremely bad when dealing with heavily armored targets (Chem Grenade is the exception) like Crusher and Scab Mauler which are the main threats in high Havoc games. Even if you min-max every possible aspect of the Improvised Mk I Shivs or Catachan Mk VI Combat Blade , you are still going to struggle with the poor TTK vs heavy armor.
