Description
This build transforms Hive Scum from a glass cannon into an untouchable assassin.
This is mainly a ranged build; however, it also gives high DPS and survivability in melee combat.
The core loop: activate Enhanced Desperado, become immune to ranged attacks, then use your 60-75% crit chance to trigger Vulture's Dodge constantly - making you immune to melee attacks too.
The Immortality Loop:
- Pop Desperado → Immune to all ranged attacks
- Shoot Everything → 65-70% crit chance
- Crits trigger Vulture's Dodge → 1s immunity to ALL attacks
- Fast-firing Autopistols → Multiple crits per second
- Result → Immunity refreshes faster than it expires
With Dual Autopistols firing ~10 rounds/second at 75% crit (stimmed), you're triggering Vulture's Dodge 7+ times per second. The 1-second immunity window never expires.
Stimm Synergy:
Vultoprene adds +15% crit chance and +20% power while stimmed, pushing you into "always critting" territory.
Damage Output:
During Desperado with full stacks: +20% Power (stimm), +25% weakspot damage, and 60-75% crit chance.
Playstyle:
Desperado Active (God Mode):
- Push aggressively into enemies
- Prioritize elite/special kills to maintain Vulture's Mark stacks
- Highlighted enemy kills extend duration - stay in Desperado as long as possible
- You are effectively immortal; play like it
Desperado Down (Glass Cannon):
- Slide constantly (50% DR)
- Sprint to build Untouchable stacks (~41% threat reduction)
- Use Blackout grenades to escape bad positions
- Melee backup with Shivs if cornered (Hyper-Critical instakills)
- Pop stimm for emergency cooldown regen
- Stay mobile, stay alive until Desperado returns
Team Role:
You're the elite assassin. Your team holds the line; you delete high-value targets.
- Pop specials before they threaten your team
- Melt elites during Desperado windows
- Provide team toughness via Vulture's Mark at max stacks
- Emergency crowd stagger with Blackout grenades
Pairs well with: Ogryn (tank), Zealot (frontline), Veteran (backup specials), Psyker (CC support)
Tips:
- Don't save Desperado — use it aggressively; kills extend it
- Chase elites during Desperado — they fuel Vulture's Mark
- Slide, don't walk — 50% DR is free
- Stimm before big fights — +15% crit from Vultoprene is massive
- Blackout staggers elites — use it to escape, not for damage
- Reload often — triggers Unload damage bonus
Dual Stub Pistols (Better accuracy for snipers/gunners)
Alt - Dual Stub Pistols (better accuracy for snipers/gunner):
Perks:
- Damage (Flak Armoured)
- Damage (Carapace Armoured)
Blessings:
- Speedload
- Desperado OR Terrifying Barrage
Stats:
- Penetration: 80/80%
- Collateral: 80/80%
- Critical Bonus: 80/80%
- Damage: 80/80%
- Mobility: 60/80%
Known Weaknesses:
- Desperado downtime is dangerous (~25-30s with good CDR)
- Ammo-hungry without Desperado's infinite reloads
- Poor sustained melee compared to dedicated melee builds
- Requires aggressive play to maintain effectiveness
Nimble Bug - Reassessment
- ✅ Dodge linger (+50% melee dodge window) works correctly
- ⚠️ Dodge distance modifier affects velocity, resulting in slightly shorter dodge duration
This means you travel the same distance but faster, ending the dodge sooner. The protective window against melee (linger time) still works.
Is it worth replacing? Probably not. The +25% dodge distance and +50% linger window are valuable. The velocity issue is minor compared to losing those benefits.
Hyper-Critical Bug - Reassessment
The bug is fixed in Patch 83. The patch #83 notes state: "Fixed an issue where 'Precision Violence' would stop replenishing Toughness under certain conditions."
