Description
This is my take on a viable alternative to the usual Hive Scum + daggers setup.
The Chain Axe brings longer reach, heavier single hits, and significantly better cleave. Because of that, I find it absolutely trivializes armored hordes. You’re not just poking targets — you’re carving lanes through them.
Yes, I know the Rend investment is going to raise some eyebrows.
So let me ask you something:
Do you enjoy one-tapping Maulers like you’re playing whack-a-mole?
Quickly two-shotting Crushers?
Good. Me too.
And here’s the part I want people to get down first: I almost never either special attacks unless it’s a helpless straggler. The real magic is in the hold attack. All the stacked attack speed bonuses add up tremendously. , you chew through carapace absurdly fast. Add 25–40% Rending on top of that and suddenly you’re the team’s anti-armor solution when grenades are gone.
The stagger potential is also no joke. This build genuinely feels like playing an “Arb-lite” — controlling space, disrupting elites, and bullying anything that walks into your swing arc. That’s where it feels most at home.
I go straight middle path because the right keystone just feels too expensive to path into. The middle route is effortless to maintain. You’re just bonking things with raw damage and watching specials and elites collapse. The Chain Axe’s high base damage makes securing kill shots easy, even early in your buff cycle, which keeps everything rolling smoothly.
Stimm choice:
Do not sleep on the damage reduction and replenishment. I was sitting at ~30%, netted, and a Poxburster jumped me. I survived and had my toughness back up almost immediately. That alone justified the slot.
For context, my screenshot was taken against two Arbites with dogs and a flame Psyker. I am not a streamer. I am not going to put much more effort into screens and videos. Try this out. If you're doubting it I promise you you'll be surprised.
