Description
Global goal of the build
Lorenz is largely underrated, even by me. "Blame the Carapace is your only problem" meta and "PBB is crap" (which is factual)
Still, it worth playing with both for surprisingly good results.
Main target are non-carapace target, which usually die with one shot up to a medium distance. Even at long range, your kill chance on a gunner (dredge) or a sniper is decent.
Survivability is solid with Steady Grip and the various damage resistance nods. Still, even with "Cant Hit Me... Again" you are weak to a good concentration of gunners.
Equipment variation:
Melee: all you need is a weapon that you can use against carapace.
-The Power Maul :
The actual versatile weapon nowaday, though it has limitations (outside of the activation it's not as good as Club 3). Still a very effective weapon with a strong activation. A lot of people goes with Carapace/Unyielding. This last is only good Vs monsters (Ogryn/Chaos Spawn/DH), Reaper outside of chest hit (flak) and Bulwark (arms and lower legs are carapace). Flak in another hand is more common and monsters will be covered by the Lorenz.
-Pickaxe: (60% defence)
Karsola: Carapace/Elite - Headtaker/Thunderous
Branx: Carapace/Unyielding - Headtaker/Thrust
First is the most versatile but don't do good against Carapace. Second do marvels against everything, but is much more delicate to use in horde situation.
I still take Unyielding on Branx as it will kill everything that is Flak regardless of the perk. As well bonking Reaper and Bulwark good!
-Club 3: (60% defence)
Carapace/Unyielding or flak - Skullcrusher/Thunderous
As it won't OS stuff, Unyielding or flak are both good. You'll kill flak quicker with the good perk but anything with this armor will be stunned anyway. So you can use Unyielding even with the Lorenz.
Very versatile, maybe a lower DPS, but easier to use and solid control in any situation.
Range: Keep the Lorenz. Changing the weapon would demand another talent tree (not much to change, still very impactful)
Perk: no change
Blessings: Keep Surgical. You can swap Blaze Away that see use Vs boss mostly and take either Expansive or Full Bore. It's not hard to actually land all the pellet in one target, not only on monsters. Blaze Away is solid of course, but your one shot one kill sometimes prevent you to go crazy... On top of the limited ammo supply.
Pick your favorite.
Curios: I would not sacrifice stamina regeneration (that is poor on Ogryn) or Gunner DR (which is a problem on Ogryn). If you want to take something out, take Revive Speed (sorry lil' Hum). Given the super long CD of PBB, take Abilities
Talents variation
-Light'em up or Hail of Fire
Both do good, pick your favourite.
-Bulletstorm into Pacemaker or Pumped Up!
As you don't shoot much, Bulletstorm doesn't trigger that much. Pacemaker can give you a nice boost of DPS. Even better with Expansive on Lorenz.
Pumped up! is here for a boost of survivability.
-Soften them up for something else, but only if you play with the Branx pickaxe or the Paul. Both have a potential of OS things, so there is no need to Soften anything. As you will shoot a lot, it is a somewhat debatable talent. Still good to have resistant things taking +10% damage.
