Overview:

  • My favorite build to run in H40 for Skitarii.
  • Chordclaw Strike for single target, or Axial Slash for melee elites.
  • Noospheric Command and Branx Mk XI Phosphor Blast Pistol to handle ranged threats and specials. Be a bit loose on using your pistol to help maintain the various ranged talents on the right side of the tree. Manstopper has infinite cleave with the pistol, so leverage that to hit backline targets through a horde. You can literally hit through an ENTIRE HORDE to hit backline targets if the shot crits. Genuine insane utility, on top of the pistol having its own brittleness source.
  • Ammunition-Restoration Pod is actually so nice to have in Havoc. Ammo economy can be really tight, and having a consistent drip of ammo is very nice to have. If you have Survivalist Vet then it gets even better. Lets you be super free to use your ammo without much fear of running out of ammo. Noospheric command helps with the ammo economy as well. If you really don't want this node though, take Superior Defence Engrams or Residual Current Buffer or Ablative Wards or Purgator Servo-Skull or Reactor Coil Recharge.
  • Mech sword is very nice now after they buffed/fixed it. Sunder also lets you cleave through carapace armor as well, which is normally impossible.

Alternatives

  • You can path up to run Power Overload with Static Capacitor Drain instead if you prefer that. I do like running this also, but having to wait about ~8 minutes or so in a H40 to get the full 24 stacks can be a bit painful. Very viable build though if you want to have increased capacitance for more claw/noospheric hits.
  • Branx Mk XI Paired Transonic Blades are 100% usable here also. I think the Branx Mk VI Mechanicus Power Sword is a smidge better now, but use transonics if you like. Use Shred/Riposte for the blessings, and Unyielding/Carapace for the perks.
  • If you really want Reactor Coil Recharge:
    • Option 1: Remove Ammunition-Restoration Pod. This helps a ton in Havoc due to the tighter ammo economy, but if you're in mid 20s havoc or auric missions, then you don't really need this extra ammo.
    • Option 2: Remove Satiated Steel. Satiated Steel is nice to have, but I found that swapping it for Reactor Coil Recharge still feels very nice for capacitance generation.
  • If Blight is in rotation in Havoc, you can grab Ablative Wards . The corruption resist is so high that you can literally fight in the blight puddles and not give a fuck, especially if you have Zealot/Scum for corruption cleanse. If you're a cool super epic gamer you don't need to take this node, but it is very comfy.
  • Stamina Regen is comfy on the curios. But, you can grab more Gunner Resist or Combat Ability Cooldown if you prefer.
    • Combat CD is a little scuffed on Skitarii however. The short version: since CD on curios reduces the overall cooldown of your ability, it means that the talents on the tree that regenerate X% of capacitance are actually slightly worse the more CD you have on your curios
      • Example: it takes 50 seconds at base to regenerate your ability on Skit. If you have 12% CD from curios, that reduces the time needed to 44 seconds. But the 1% per second from Augmented Power-Cycle is now giving you 1% of 44, instead of 1% of 50. Since all of Skit capacitance nodes are % based, this math affects ALL of the capacitance nodes. That doesn't mean CD is bad on curios necessarily, but it has a lot less value than you might think compared to the other classes.
