Description
Toxic Devil’s Claw
Toxic Devil’s Claw is a high-crit Hive Scum melee build designed around turning the Devil’s Claw’s excellent crowd control into a reliable delivery system for Coated Weaponry, while maintaining enough flexibility to work with any Blitz you prefer.
The build takes Full Stim Supply and aggressively stacks Critical Hit Chance throughout the Hive Scum talent tree, including Chem Enhance off the Chemical Dependency keystone. The goal is to generate as many critical hits as possible while carving through dense groups of enemies, allowing the Devil’s Claw to become much more than a conventional horde-clearing weapon.
The Stim Lab is pushed all the way to Spur V and Vultoprene II, maximizing the benefits of your stims with an emphasis on melee damage and supporting the build’s heavy investment into Critical Hit Chance. Combined with Full Stim Supply and Chemical Dependency, stims become an important part of the build’s combat rhythm rather than something you simply save for emergencies.
The Devil’s Claw itself runs +5% Critical Hit Chance and +2 Stamina as its perks, paired with Rampage and Shred. Shred feeds directly into the build’s crit engine during sustained melee combat, while Rampage rewards exactly what the Devil’s Claw does best—getting into a crowd and cutting through multiple enemies at once.
That combination makes the weapon increasingly dangerous as the fight develops. Once you begin swinging into a packed horde, Shred starts building additional Critical Hit Chance, Rampage increases your damage, and your existing talent investment gives you an already strong foundation for landing critical hits.
The centerpiece tying everything together is Coated Weaponry.
Rather than treating the Devil’s Claw purely as a crowd-control weapon, Toxic Devil’s Claw uses its fast, sweeping attacks and excellent cleave to repeatedly take advantage of Coated Weaponry across groups of enemies. Every additional source of Critical Hit Chance increases the consistency of the build and allows you to capitalize on the Devil’s Claw’s ability to engage multiple targets at once.
The build also takes Extra Pouches and Pocket Toxin, giving the Blitz side of the build considerably more flexibility. Pocket Toxin allows the build’s toxic theme to extend beyond the Devil’s Claw itself, while Extra Pouches gives you additional resources to work with.
More importantly, this combination means Toxic Devil’s Claw isn't locked into one specific Blitz. Extra Pouches and Pocket Toxin complement the rest of the build regardless of which Blitz you decide to bring, allowing you to choose your Blitz based on your preferred playstyle, team composition, or the weaknesses you want to cover.
That flexibility is intentional. The Devil’s Claw, crit stacking, Stim Lab, and Coated Weaponry form the core engine of the build. Your Blitz is another tool layered on top of that engine rather than something the entire build depends upon.
In combat, Toxic Devil’s Claw wants to stay aggressive. Use your stims, get into melee, and put the Devil’s Claw to work where it performs best: right in the middle of a crowd. Sweeping attacks control the horde while Shred builds momentum, Rampage increases your damage output, and your stacked Critical Hit Chance keeps the toxic side of the build working.
The more enemies you can safely engage, the more opportunities you create to crit and take advantage of Coated Weaponry. Instead of avoiding the chaos of a packed melee, this build is designed to thrive inside it.
The Gameplay Loop
Stim up. Get into the crowd. Build Shred. Trigger Rampage. Crit constantly. Apply your toxins. Use your Blitz when needed. Keep swinging.
Toxic Devil’s Claw isn't built around precision dueling or waiting for the perfect target. It's a chemically enhanced crowd-control build designed to wade directly into a horde, control the battlefield with the Devil’s Claw, and turn an already excellent crowd-clearing weapon into a crit-fueled toxic blender.
