What? You wanted to be a Commissar? Well guess what, you daydreaming, cosplaying, trigger-happy, mutated sacks of emperor-forsaken grox shaggers. You have neither the hat nor the progenium discipline to project the kind of aura that inspires dread and awe within the bellies of any weak-kneed, superstitious, feet-beating, lily-livered, targets or believe they're an extra special, sparkly little, sermon-huffing, snowflake. No *guardsman,* you are not that special, but you proved to be special enough to lead this raggedy-arse gaggle of the Emperor's lowest. And lead them, you, will, son!
Your job is to be the leader of the group. To do that you're going to be in the thick of the fighting using your voice of command as often as the situation calls for it. However, your main job is to support everyone else by buffing their toughness and damage. Assuming they stay within your coherency. It also does not hurt to grab rending damage, so you can have an easier time against tougher enemies.
