This Psyker build pretty much lets me carry damnation hi-int shock troops. With the right muscle memory, you're almost impossible to kill and can murder everything. While this is my default Psyker build for any situation, you're still what I consider to be the "Heavy Support" of the team.

Your Ultimate Role:
Stagger every specialist and elite, if not outright kill them. The Trauma staff can stomp most elites/specialists in 2-3 mid-full charge blasts. If you don't have the time to dedicate the time to kill a special/elite, just stagger them for a quick blast and deal with the immediate horde.
IE you have a ton of adds to deal with, a flamer suddenly shows up. You can quickly switch to the staff, stagger him with an instant charge blast, and go back to dealing with the horde until it's safe to dispose of him. When you get really good at this you can whip out the staff to insta-disable crushers, marauders, trappers, etc.

The Staff:

The Trauma staff is such a sweet staff. Just right-click left-click away and watch all the heretics die like roaches to a stomping boot.

Most of the time you should be on your staff, you only really use the sword to dispose of quick threats or to combo a specialist/elite. When you're not on your staff, you aren't watching for specials, and that can get the team killed. Your job, as I do in my Psyker gameplay, is to stagger/kill anything in your Trauma range.

If you play the staff right, you can't die. Just blast at your feet and enemies will be too staggered to kill you. Have 5 crushers, and 4 ragers surrounding you? Keep exploding and dodging on your feet and just whittle them down. Easy enough!

Other than that, just delete entire swaths of enemies with this thing man. The main stats you want on this are: DMG, WARP RESIST, CHARGE SPEED, those are your big three. Peril resistance is nice too, but with the talent of 30% extra peril quelled it can pick up the slack. The dump stat is blast radius. While nice, is not too important.

The Sword:

Your sword will be able to reliably handle most hordes. Just swing and cleave away. Deflector will allow you breathing room against gunners to reposition. You'll use this to deal with fodder around you as this is your personal protection. It's also a good way to get your toughness back with the warp slashes, given you have the warp attacks recover toughness.

I'd say all the stats on this thing are important. Mine has mobility as it's dump stat (60%) but everything else is 80%. So while it is a unicorn, have this as your frame of reference.

You can play around with the perks, but those blessings give you the most power and survivability.

The Staff Illisi Combo:
This combo will insta-kill most specials:
Simply stagger them onto the ground with a low-charge Trauma blast, then kill them with a charged illisi swing. Light or heavy should kill them most of the time.

Brain Burst:

You do not want to be brain-bursting things often. Do not rely on this. Why this is part of the build is because it's your sniper rifle in the event you need something dead NOW that's too far from the staff. Say an elite gunner or a sniper. While Assail is nice, it does not have the reliability of brain burst, plus your staff has enough crowd control.
