A well rounded Vet build that is incredibly tough and has great access to toughness regen.

ChainSword -  Chainaxe either will work great for killing melee and armored elites. Or Powersword works well also.

Perks:

  • Flak - One of the enemy types you find frequently in Elites and Scab and dreg bruisers.
  • Elites - Helps to one shot Elites using mostly bleed so we can dodge cancel specials.

Blessings:

  • Bloodletting - With the dodge cancel of the special, this is just huge amounts of free damage to high prio enemies.
  • Shred - With the naturally high finesse, increased finesse, and Exploit Weakness, critical hits are very effective. Rampage works well here particularly if you don't run Exploit weakness.

Shotgun - or most other fast swapping weapons like Revolver and Plasma

  • Flak - we can use the extra damage for body shot crits on elites
  • Maniac - All your specials in one basket

Blessings:

  • No Respite - Best damage blessing on this gun, it has huge stagger particularly when you use the weapon special. Also increases burn/DoT damage.
  • Full Bore - I find it is more consistent than DeathSpitter or FireFrenzy as you don't need to kill enemies withing 8m to get the effect and it lasts longer.

The goal is to limit the need to reload the revolver as much as possible with Always Prepared, as it will always load a minimum of 1 round which is a huge portion of the Shotguns Mag. Shotguns and other fast swap weapons work very well with Agile Engagement easy to keep on for which ever weapon you have active.

The Crit portion for ranged Weapon Specialist only applies to the FIRST shot made. So anything with consecutive crits (Autoguns), very effective crits like Flechette Shotguns, or Revolvers are the best options, and large single shots like Plasmagun. Always Prepared is a good upgrade if you are running weapons with lower mag totals like Revolver and Shotguns.
Plasma gets an increased rate of fire, but it doesn't appear to affect charge rate so it doesn't change the damage/breakpoints.

Also note swap speed as the ranged buff will start at the beginning of swap animation, so Boltguns will use 30%~ of the entire buff on their swap animation alone.

Light attack supremacy - The reason for a light attack focused melee weapon is that attack speed only effects the swinging animation. So anything like a special charge up (power sword) or charging up for a heavy swing will not be affected by the increased attack rate.
