“[Darktide] isn’t COD, nor was designed to be COD.” - Fatshark Hedge

If you're not a zoomer, you probably remember how (mostly) PC gamers used the term "Call of Duty" as a derogatory term to describe the trend of FPS games adopting mechanics like sprinting, regenerating HP, ADS, and weapon attachments in an attempt to get the "CoD crowd" following the enormous success of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (if you're a zoomer, it's not THAT installment of Call of Duty, but the one from 2007.)

Given how saturated the video game market eventually became with such shooters, notwithstanding installments of Call of Duty itself with a release schedule resembling the one of FIFA (it was a really boring time to be an FPS fan at the time if you didn't care much for such games), and the perceived "casualness" of its playerbase (owed partially due to the number of people who played nothing but CoD, and possibly FIFA, on what is most likely Xbox 360), most discussion of Call of Duty among more dedicated (or sweaty, depending on your viewpoint) gamers resorted to talking crap about it how it was ruining the FPS genre..

Why does this matter? It's just flavor text and a writing exercise for me, but also, the first quote was the ex(cuse)planation for Darktide not having a weapon customization system by a person representing Fatshark on the Steam forums, and that's how I got the idea.

Do you want to sprint around as if you had the Marathon perk? Do you want to liberally throw grenades? Do you want to ADS, kill an enemy with a spray aimed roughly at the head area, then quickly reload even if you spent only like 10% of your clip? Knife? Say no more.

DISCLAIMER: This build is more on the fun side than meta, but I did my best to balance it so you actually have good stuff while RPing the Xbox 360 days. You'll still need to know how to handle yourself in melee, and understand positioning and game flow to be successful at higher difficulties. Having the weapon customization mod is highly recommended for the spirit of the build. Melee weapon is up to preference, but I suggest one of the Infantry Autoguns for ranged.
