Charged sword strikes to deal with carapace, burn everything else and BB when you need to reach out and explode things at ranges your staff won't reach.

 

A high crit chance will drive insane toughness regen, aided by the toughness regen speeds, as long as you have dots ticking on mobs, you'll be regenerating toughness fast enough to be standing in the open with shotgunners and gunners not able to break your shield.

 

Stacking soulblaze on bosses is a surprisingly effective way to do boss damage too.
