Description
By the god emperor, this dmg is insane. Ogryns just melt before its power.
Is this the best revolver build? I have no fucken clue, it just blew my mind how strong it is, I wasn't expecting the quickdraw to 1 shot reapers with a head crit, but it does, 4000dmg, 1 hit.
if you're not interested in my thought process and testing, skip to pros and cons further down.
First edit:
Need suppresion immunity, any minor suppression and you won't hit shit. Chink in the armor keystone mod had to go for this. Also switched from camoflage to long range assasin, you're not exactly long range, at most medium range, but I believe it will be more useful as it won't lure you into standing still and getting constantly shot. Kill zone also switched to opening salvo, it only gives 10% crit for 1 shot, but seeing how you wanna shoot within medium to short range (therefore most likely nullifying kill zone) it makes more sense to me. Catch a breath gets replaced experimentally with get back in the fight, of course you don't want to get hit and lose all your toughness. But shit happens, and getting +50% stamina so you can get that 25% crit and 65% sway reduction from deadshot might save you in real shitty situations where you need to insta kill something.
Second edit:
Nevermind, with suppression immunity, you can be a long range guy. So, get back in the fight gets thrown out of the fight again, replacing it with catch a breath. However, I don't think the kill zone over opening salvo will be worth it, as the majority of your time will be spent within 8 meters of enemies, and you want 10% more crit chance (guaranteed on every reload) over +15% power (sometimes +15% power) anyways, even if it's just for 1 shot.
Third and final edit:
I'm pretty sure this build is now as strong as it possibly can be. The final change was going back to camoflage from long range assasin. Even though you have fast reload, you need to focus your shots on specials, elites and bosses and you don't have time to build up stacks on weaklings with 5 shots, so alittle bit of focus from standing still will have to do. Just don't get lured into standing too still.
So lets make a final pros and cons:
Pros:
- Melt ogryns
- Snipe snipers with ability
- Either weakspot 1 tap specials or 1 tap body shot crit
- Very fast shooting with insane dmg + almost guaranteed always a fast reload
- The build rewards good players immensely, if you're a gamer that can pop heads on every shot, your efficiency is greatly enhanced with this build.
- Even when you're not in tip top shape, the crits on bodyshots will help you power through.
- Your dmg is just bloody ridiculous.
Cons:
- You're a very squishy boy, and if you aren't hitting those headshots, you're even more so.
- While the shovel is good at dealing with the weaklings, it remains a fact that hordes aren't your strong suit. You have a grenade to help you out as well, but if you're not killing those specials and elites with your revolver you're just not very useful compared to other builds.
- While the revolver does have very good aim, unless you're alright with missing a couple of shots firing long range, you need your ability to let you snipe the snipers. And sometimes you just don't have it.
- Focus stacks. God I fucken hate them. But they are strong, when you're playing well. If you're not playing at your best, don't expect any usefulness from that god forsaken keystone. Or if you have to shovel some nerds.
- Bulwarks. Just... Bulwarks....
- Focus stacks have the unfortunate side effect of luring you into standing still and taking unnecessary hits. On auric damnation, unless you have your team protecting your back, 80% of the time you need to keep moving, dodging shots, nerds, fires, crushers, specials.. Well you get my idea. So punishing you for moving if you aren't hitting headshots consistently... God it's dumb in a game like this.
Final thoughts
Fuck focus stacks. The dmg is so huge, but the drawback is so big. If I were to speculate, the best and most fun revolver build would most likely not include Marksman's Focus keystone. Maybe not any keystone at all. But with Executioner's Stance chosen as this build's ability, it's just so much dmg I can't let go of it.
