BEHOLD! The worst build in the game. A build so bad, that not only is your team down a player, but they’re up an enemy that that can’t be killed, spawns enemies constantly, jacks up the number of specials and elites, and couldn’t even fix the problem if they wanted to. Your talent and weapon choice is built to be as anti-synergistic as possible. You are a professional detriment to your team, and it’s literally their problem.
The primary objective of this build is to piss of the Combat Director, the A.I. responsible for spawning enemies. Whenever you are progressing through a mission too quickly the Director considers you to be speed-running. It doesn’t like this very much. In response it will spawn extra specialists and elites to slow you down. The faster you go, the angrier it gets. The beauty of this build is that you’re too fast to catch, leaving the obscene number of enemies that the Director just spawned to target the innocent rejects that happened to be your teammates.
The secondary objective is to make sure that your team can’t even see the enemies that you have dropped on their heads by creating a nearly permanent haze with your smoke grenades. You are equipped with literally every grenade talent that Veteran has to offer. Which means….
+ The duration goes from 15->30 seconds+ You have a 20% chance to throw 2 at once+ You regenerate 1 grenade every 60 seconds+ You have an extra grenade max+ You have a 5% chance to regenerate 1 grenade whenever you, or an innocent victim, kills a specialist or elite enemy while in coherency with you.
Now that you know what your objectives are let’s talk about how your gear helps you achieve this hellscape of a gamestate.
The centerpiece of the build is the perks on your weapons and curios in combination with the most infamous weapon type in the game. The Catachan Combat Blades.
All melee weapons come with the ability to lunge. Inputting sprint while charging a heavy attack will allow you to speed up slightly before you release the attack. The Combat Blades have a unique property allowing the lunge to increase your speed beyond what your sprint normally is, and getting an even larger but short-lived burst on release. This allows you to outrun literally everything in the game that isn’t a gunshot or a Zealot. And even then, your build can keep up this speed for far longer than any reasonable build. The reason behind the sheer amount of time that you can keep up your max speed is because of the perks on both your weapons and curios. The extra stamina regeneration helps you recover after using it all up, and the sprint efficiency makes sure that you don’t have to stop to do that often.
Now that you’ve shat the bed, you’re once called “teammates” get to sleep in it. The final part of your build is making sure that you are powerless to undo the thorough fucking that you’ve brought down upon the lobby. The final key to the build is the gun the your friends turned “blocked and reported” want you to give a big ole smooch. The Kantrael MKIX Combat Shotgun. With a hefty base damage per shell, you’d think it’d be pretty good right? Factually wrong. You get almost no damage bonuses since the ones you would’ve gotten from your talents are based on being far away from your enemy. The Pierce blessing isn’t very helpful since you get no extra crit chance from your perks other blessing. And the tiny 10% you get from “Opening Salvo” is literally only applied to the first shot, which wouldn’t be the end of the world if you didn’t also have no reload speed bonuses or bypasses. Your range is also dogshit if it being a shotgun didn’t make it obvious. The special ammo type for the Kantrael is the incendiary shell. While it does have nearly infinite cleave, it doesn’t do much else due to a lack of support. And the final gleaming beam of hope is that “Hit and Run” blessing, which is also dogshit. There’s not enough time for you to sprint and still keep the immunity up, meaning that you can forget about using it as an approach option for ranged enemy packs. Just like you can forget about Executioner’s Stance. It’s not upgraded and lasts for 5 fucking seconds. It doesn’t even mark targets for your teammates. You’re not getting anything done with it, just like the rest of this build.
That’s it. The worst build in the game. A build so bad that it’s detrimental to both you and your teammates. So why did I make this?
For shits and giggles mostly, but I did think of at least 1 use for it. You know that one toxic goblin bitch you keep running into? Instead of blocking him why don’t you go have some fun? Cause he sure as hell won’t be in a minute.
