Description
Helbore Lasgun Auric Damnation Ready Build
MKIII vs MKI
I recommend starting with a MKIII and if it feels too sluggish, go to the MKI. MKI feels much faster.
The MKI charges and fires much quicker than the MKIII but has a bit less damage. it still can one shot most things, but not as reliably. the follow up shot is very very fast to make up for it.
The MKIII will very consistently kill whatever you shoot in the head with one shot, or 2-3 against maulers and crushers.
The playstyle of this build is going to be marking enemies for target priority, and chaining charged shots to rapidly eliminate elites and specialists, and non charged attacks to manage basic shooters (Charged for MKI).
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Never need ammo or grenade pickups (more for your team)
- One-shot-kill most enemies
- Team wide toughness
- Easy to guarantee a critical shot
- Rare reload despite high charge shot cost
Cons
- No great answer to bulwarks or crushers
- Not as much penetration as Plasma or revolver
Playstyle
Lucius Helbore Lasgun
The MKIII with this build can kill anything up to a reaper in one shot, granted it is a fully charged critical headshot. It sounds like a lot of setup for a kill but with the proper blessings and rhythm it feels very fluid to play. a non charged headshot should one shot kill any basic shooter enemy. combined with the exhilarating takedown talent this can provide quite a bit of toughness regen even in those situations where there are a lot of shooters but no specialists or elites to be seen.
The special attack with the MKIII is a bayonet swing with a light and heavy variant of attack, which can be used in a pinch if there are 1 or 2 enemies on you that haven't been taken care of. The heavy variant can also one-shot the lower health specialists such as dogs, flamers, bombers, and snipers if you find yourself close to them.
The MKI Special attack it more of a bayonet stab with decent damage and very high stagger which can knock back even ragers. it can also be held and sprinted with for a sick bayonet charge into the fray.
Whenever you are shooting at anything you want to be constantly pressing your tag button to locate and kill specialists and elites as soon as they are in your line of sight.
Your dump stat for this weapon should be ammo, since you don't really use it anyway.
Blessings
- Surgical
- Allows great synergy with your charged shots, adding as much critical chance as you need for your situation
- Onslaught
- If you have a need for rapid firing fully charged shots, this will help tremendously. you will get less surgical stacks doing this but you will still have pretty good chances to crit
Perks
- Maniac Damage
- Allows for one-shotting ragers of both kinds
- Flak Armor Damage
- You can change this between flak and carapace based on your own needs, but i prefer flak
Melee Weapon
You need a melee weapon that is fast can clear hordes for this build, and anything you are comfortable with will work. power cycling power sword is good, chainsword is good, shovel is decent, but my preferred weapon is MKIV Devil's claw. once the wrath stacks kick in, you can basically swim through basic enemies with light heavy combo.
Talent Choice Highlights
- Exhilarating Takedown
- This is going to be your flex talent. you might find yourself not needing the extra toughness boosts so you can change this with other things like the +5 crit chance node, For the Emperor, or Redirect Fire.
Curios
These are pretty flexible depending on how your games are feeling. for me, 1 stamina curio, 1 HP curio, and 1 toughness curio has felt extremely reliable.
Curio perks to prioritize
- Damage Resistance (Gunners)
- Toughness Regen
- Stamina Regen
- Block Efficiency
- (Optional) + toughness
- This one adds a little bit of toughness which increases your value for when you get %toughness regen, which then spreads to your allies in coherency via Born Leader Talent
Fix bayonets, and CHARGE!
