Siblings. i have come to share my ways if the ala-ca-blam.
Many Psykers will tell you to use brain burst for a nice, passive po when you shoot something, relying on the boost to damage along with spreading soulfire as a way to keep your DPS up.But after some time, I present an alternative.
The kit and what it does-
Saber with uncanny strikes- Will handle most things all the time with pokes, keeps crowds at bay, but when Scriers pops (and its pops often) it will kill crushers by poking. A good Force sword also works but be careful using charged attacks while in scriers.GUN
Headhunter or Autogun of choice, the Columnus V for raw dps but the headhunters (I like the VII personally, with a cheeky crosshair and fov mod to make them usable) are supreme at getting weakspots at range to keep DD up.Pretty much any gun when in scriers will do serious damage to anything tough, go nuts. Laspistol with infernus? Also fun.
Assail
Assail is a braindead ability for spamming on lower difficulties, that falls off in Damnation, right?Wrong, its a tool that can be used effectively in Auric with the right set up (this one)
Its your horde clear, its your sniping at range when you can hide behind cover, it's your panic button when your gun is empty or out of ammo, its your best friend when you want to save ammo. And when you get DD stacks to 15+ its a laserbeam, and its the best way to keep those stacks high by thwipping a shard to go headshot the blue glowing chaff.
Defined Destiny is the true power of this, the buffs it gives affect Assail, make all your guns just simply feel better at doing what you want to do with them, which is click on heads. I use hud mods to make keeping track of buffs easier for my ADHD addled brain, and I can see it being tricky without it.
Is it objectively the highest DPS Psyker? possibly not. It is however capable of handling any mobs in the game, and thats always nice, and as a result you feel much more survivable than your average sparkhead, at the cost of hoovering up ammo (although if you're using assail for chaff and targets you don't need the gun for, and mixing in melee where appropriate, you shouldn't be too bad).
For a slightly more cracked way to play this, take one of the Grias that can have the Stripped down blessing. Feel free to take a good knife, and you are now immune to ranged damage while sprinting, and can sprint forever. You are now the wizard zealot.
