Description
The Headtaker
This build excels at both the removal of elites/armor as well as hordes of enemies. The high crit chance granted from Blazing Piety, Bloodthirsty, Shredder, and Fury of the Faithful makes you a machine adept and cutting through anything short of a Rager in a single hit. Your high attack speed from Fury of the Faithful Frenzy (combined two skills) results in your ability to build Shred, Disdain and Sustained Assault stacks at an unprecedented rate. The more enemies that face you, the stronger you are.
When faced by a horde you will have nearly unlimited FoF (Fury of the Faithful) due to your increased crit chance from Shred and Faithful Frenzy as the increased speed of your attacks means you can churn our more damage and crits over time than other weapons. Your high damage from the Eviscerator in combination with Sustained Assault and Shred means that once your assault starts, it will not stop via Punishment. Even if you are hit, you'll be able to take a mortal wound once every 120s with Until Death and keep yourself going. Additionally, enemies will be made to pay for this mistake with the Master's Retribution and your immediate follow up attacks.
You'll be able to keep your toughness up with the aforementioned skills and your unparalleled Ability regen as you are a self sustaining crit machine via your talents and most importantly: Invocation of Death.
You gain crits from the following sources:
1) Fury of the Faithful. That's 1 free crit + 20% speedboost.
2) Shred. Each time you hit someone, that's a 4% crit boost.
3) Blazing Piety. 25% crit chance when you have Righteous Warrior. Keep up the crits, keep up Blazing Piety.
4) Bloodthirsty. Kill something with your special (Crushers and Maulers are 1 hit with rev'd heavy + Fury of the Faithful) which means your next hit, whatever it is, will be a crit. It's free crit real estate. Combined with Shred, those two crits have dropped your cooldown by 3s and you're just getting started.
If you've emptied your mag you will likely have put several enemies down and your teammates are likely adding their kills to your Blazing Piety, by the end of the first knot of enemies you should have Blazing Piety up and ready to rip and tear through the enemy.
Why take a laspistol? It keeps you mobile, it's a quick swap, a quick reload and has surprising ability to combat snipers and shooters at range. Damage fall off is serious but it's a very precise weapon and it can be used to devastating effect even in a long-range fire fight. Your stun grenades are also helpful too, allowing you to quickly close with gunner teams and even flank them. The high pistol mobility permits you to flank enemies efficiently and the solid damage of the pistol permits the elimination of disablers (mutants aside) with brutal efficiency.
The primary threats of this build are:
1) Gunners. They will immobilize you and cut you to bits. Get your vet to pin them down so you can rip them apart or eliminate them all together.
2) Ragers. They're a problem for everyone. Use the push attack to get em in the middle of a horde, rev it for serious damage. Don't feel bad about charging em at close range to put em off balance and take them down with a free crit. Keep in mind, rev it up, charge, crit your next attack. Don't feel bad about pulling out when you're stuck in a rager.
3) Armor. Gangs of Maulers and Crushers are hard to deal with for everyone, this build is fantastic for cutting them apart but all good things take time. Get your Psyker to hold em in place with Smite, get em Stuck on an Ogryn's Slab shield (Backstabber is key), another Zealot's Chorus to make em see the God Emperor, anything to hold em in place while you play operation on the heretics. Nothing short of a krak grenade gets rid of a Mauler pack faster than you with proper team support and unlike krak grenades, your faith is not limited in number and to be rationed.
Blood for the Emperor, Skulls for the Golden Throne. We have come for you, Heretics.
