Description

The idea is to crit as often as possible to soulblaze anything and everything you see, which in turn allows you to kill more enemies directly (through Trauma damage) and indirectly (through Soulblaze). Rinse and repeat.

Trauma Force Staff stats, in order of importance:

  1. Charging Speed
  2. Blast Radius
  3. Damage
  4. Warp Resistance
  5. Quell Speed

You want to charge this thing as quickly as possible and as much as possible and have it hit as many enemies as possible. The circle outline only shows max damage of your staff, your actual explosion radius is WAY higher. Hence --> max blast radius --> more enemies set on fire by crits. Dying enemies spread the fire further and you will bascially end up having a massive horde on fire. Looks very nice, especially in LightsOut missions.

The soulblaze stacks then increase your damage via Empyrean Empowerment and also allow you to cast more often thanks to Inner Tranquility and Warp Battery.

Trauma Staff staggers everything but Mutants and bosses, even hordes of Crushers will be knocked down easily and can then be easily dispatched. Just make sure to stay in the backline and have your melee teammate take the aggro.

If you're surrounded, just point your staff at your feet, charge it a bit (40-50%) and let loose a few quick tremors, sends most weaker enemies on their arse - for elites, charge a tad longer. Good dodge work while charging will save you in a lot of situations, so be sure to practise that!

Duelling Sword is mainly as a mobility tool which also dishes out insane damage vs Mutants. Can 1 shot on headshots and thanks to your Blessings, you will get excellent crit rolls and damage modifiers.

Alternatively Deimos Force Sword to 1 shot Mutants and deal out strong single-entity-damage. Use Uncanny Strike to get extra damage bonus vs Crushers/Maulers if you hit the head.

Venting Shriek has two uses:

  1. Failsafe. You may blow yourself up with Trauma more often as it is more unforgiving at when your peril is too high. Be very careful with 80%+ peril, full charges may not be possible anymore.
  2. Extra burst damage. Ties into point 1. Get your peril as high as possible, if enemies come too close still, Shriek. They'll receive extra Soulblaze stacks and anything that is not a Crusher/Bulwark will basically melt instantly if set on fire enough before.

!! Don't worry about losing your warp stacks, they will come by quickly after venting shriek. Every burning enemy has a 10% chance to give your stacks back. If you have a decently sized horde, you will be able to get all 6 stacks back in no time.

Brain Burst is there to snipe very far away specials like snipers or to dispatch some other distant enemies. Most of the time you will be using your Trauma Staff, however.

This build will carry you through even the hardest of Maelstroms, most infamously the Scab Melee Only, No Ammo Pickup one. You will meet a ton of Crushers/Maulers/Marauders and you will not care for they will all faceplant lol.
