I haven’t seen a lot of Ranged focused zealot builds, so here is my take on one. The objective of this build is to make sure your allies are in the fight as much as possible, to take care of those pesky maniacs and stray ogres that get to your more squishy allies, to deal with blobs of ranged enemies who have ended a game all too easily too many times. The goal of this zealot is not to put a spotlight upon themselves but to elevate their allies to even greater heights, in the name of the God Emperor.
We will start with the weapons:
The Graia Braced Autogun is the foundation of this build, it is what does most of the heavy lifting in ensuring that your Allie’s aren’t bogged down by maniacs or groups of infested and flak armored horde and elites. If you can’t tell from the blessings and passives, you are going to be using this gun up close a lot, but that doesn’t mean you will only use it up close. You see, you get accuracy, recoil, and damage reduction bonuses from successfully dodging attacks, and that includes dodging bullets. Yes, this is a Gunfu build where you dodge bullets and attacks and mow down droves of enemies from behind at mid to close range, suppressing further ranged enemies so you and your allies can get closer. And when ever a maniac shows up, such as a mutant or a flamer of some kind, suppressing barrage makes dispatching them easier, leaving a clear shot to them. When you run out of ammo, you’ll switch to your crusher so you can take advantage of The Emperor’s Bullet so you can charge Sainted Gunslinger and get back to controlling the flow of the horde with your gun. And you also should use the auto gun for when you fight bosses, get behind the boss and just unload, ambuscade makes things like the beast of nurgle easy.
The Crusher is meant for dealing with either individuals or groups of carapace, flak and unyielding enemies, staggering them and knocking them around, ensuring they don’t deal damage to your allies. Remember that your goal isn’t necessarily to deal damage, it’s to stop enemies from attacking your allies. So once you knock an enemy down, start wailing on a different one and have faith that your Allie’s will finish the fallen. And of course, you will also use the crusher when you run out of ammo in your mag, taking advantage of The Emperor’s Bullet, killing things until Sainted Gunslinger is at full charge.
Now the Blitz:
The Immolation Grenades are just great for supporting your allies, controlling the flow of battle and triggering Blazing Piety. When your ally is pounced by a dog and you can’t get to them in a timely enough manner, Immolation Grenade. If you are trying to do one of those hacking mini games and getting swarmed by horde, Immolation Grenades make it easier. Know where a group of enemies are gonna spawn from, Immolation grenade. The uses are many, it’s just great.
Next we talk about the Ability:
Chorus of Spiritual Fortitude is kind of just perfect for this build. It toughens allies and yourself, it staggers and suppresses just about everything, giving Stun Immunity, encourages allies to stay in coherency and it’s damage buff alongside Infectious Zeal gives a splendid spike in damage that if your party is organized enough, can turn a intimidating fight into a one sided slaughter. Be careful when you use it though, because if mismanaged, you might not have it when you need it, that’s why I always grab a concentration stimm to reset my ability.
And finally the main event, the Keystone:
Blazing Piety is just a generally good keystone that rewards you for what others are doing, because if your allies are killing things, it charges Blazing Piety. And since they contribute to it being triggered, they may aswell benefit from it. By picking Infectious Zeal, your allies within coherency gain a 10% Bonus to their crit chance. Another reason to stay within coherency. Quick ways to trigger and maintain Blazing Piety is by using your Graia Braced Autogun and Immolation Grenades, just unloading into a sizable horde and occasionally picking off a stray soft body to keep the Keystone active.
Ok, that’s all, hope you find the build interesting enough to try it.
