Description
Note: I use this build constantly in havoc 40 games and actually incredibly strong as long as you have the mechanics to properly pull this build off, and if you're just absolutely cracked, then it will be incredibly powerful as you can quite literally one shot almost everything in the game constantly before your team can even recognize their existence.. You can also be quite flexible with this build as well depending on if you're playing with a team you trust or if you choose to use more optimal/meta weapons like a helbore lasgun instead.
Also I've already made a video on this build and how to play it, so you can refer there if you're confused or want a bit more detail about why this build is actually quite good and the build decisions. The second half of the video is me ranking all the ranged weapons for this build specifically if you're looking for other options, or are wondering how good the other weapons and their variations are
Also, the build in the video is slightly outdated by 2 differing talent points. One key point I made about the infantry las in particular is that in Havoc 40, it was inconsistent in one shotting Scab gunner specifically without using the Fire Team aura (though if you are playing in havoc 30 or below, then you can just ignore that point entirely since its a H40 specific problem). And I only recently "discovered" the fix to this slight problem through 2 talent node changes.
- "Marksmen" (bottom left) -> "Chink in their Armour" (keystone bonus node)
- 25 toughness node (bottom middle) -> Rending Strikes (bottom middle)
These two changes made the Inf las consistent against Scab Gunners in Havoc 40.
But an important note here: if you decide to run a more optimal weapon like the helbore instead, you can actually drop both rending talents and "Kill Zone" to pick up something else. This could either be more toughness so you can heal your team even better, or some melee talent nodes instead for dealing with horde clear.
And if you REALLY hate your team, you can also drop "Born Leader" and "Enhanced Target Priority" to instead invest those extra 2 talent points elsewhere.
