This is my Although this is a fun build, it's not my favorite Recon Lasgun build anymore. I've updated this build with something more current and playable in endgame content to include Solos, Auric Maelstrom, Mortis Trials, and Havoc. Check out my most current build below:

https://youtube.com/shorts/KZyqPnaSm7M?feature=shared

https://darktide.gameslantern.com/builds/9ee36473-7a45-464c-bba7-af3476e951c5/recon-lasgun-veteran-current

Pros: Very ammo efficient, Great single target DPS, Special Sniping, AoE Damage, Survivability.

Cons: Doesn't have the same burst damage or cleave of the Plasma Gun or Boltgun.

Weapons

In this build you may use whatever melee weapon you want. I recommend the Combat Blade or Dueling Sword because it provides you with very high mobility and great horde clear.

Your ranged weapon is going to be the Accatran Mk XIV Recon Lasgun (But you can really use whichever you like) which is going to be doing most of your damage. You'll want to take Infernus and Dumdum since we are using the Deadshot talent in this build. This completely redefines breakpoints for most targets since you will only ever have to crit most specials and lower health elites 3-4 times before they are guaranteed to die. Infernus is very potent in boss gauntlets because it allows you to do continuous damage to bosses while allowing you to do other things.

Curios

For Curios I run a 3 Stamina Curios to take advantage of how Deadshot, Duck and Dive, and Invigorated work. Grab Ability Cooldown, Stamina Regeneration, Toughness, Sprint Efficiency, and Block Efficiency. You're going to be using your ability whenever it's up so you really want as much cooldown reduction as you can get and stacking stamina benefits makes surviving much easier.

Talents

The Veteran talent tree is very bottom heavy meaning that we need to get to the bottom of the tree to be able to get the most benefits out of it.

For this reason we go straight down the right into One Motion and Out For Blood as they provide a lot of value with how we will be using Weapons Specialist.

Our Blitz is Shredder Frag Grenade because of the crowd control and bleed that it applies on enemies. I don't recommend Krak Grenades because you already have very high single target boss damage and Smoke Grenades are simply too far to the right of the tree to be of any value, it would cost you too many talent points to invest in.

Catch a Breath and Survivalist (Aura) are phenomenal sustainment talents that allow us to stay in the fight longer by providing us with more toughness regeneration and ammo.

Demolition Stockpile is almost a must have on any Veteran because of its ability to give us more grenades. Running this with Demolition Team allows you to do absolutely insane AoE damage using Shredder Frag Grenades.

Voice of Command paired with Duty and Honor is one of, if not the most powerful ability in the game. It combines crowd control with toughness regeneration and an extra 50 toughness (which comes with insane survivability benefits) for yourself and anyone in your coherency.

Deadshot, Fully Loaded, and Shock Trooper allow us to have unlimited ammo in this build. It's probably the most ammo efficient build in the game which can come in handy in a variety of different scenarios.

Tactical Awareness and Iron Will are must takes for survivability and cooldown reduction.

Duck and Dive, Onslaught, Weapons Specialist, and Invigorated allow us to use weapon swap tech to keep our stamina topped off, continuously crit with Deadshot synergy, and demolish any target regardless of their armor.

This build has 1 flex point. I take Precision Strikes because it simply increases damage against everything.
