Maximizes cleave on Assail with Ethereal Shards + Warp Splitting, combined with being able to throw shards at 100% peril due to Warp Unbound. With high peril, Assail shards will pierce many enemies (including flak) and absolutely shred hordes.
This build uses the heavy version of the Recon Lasgun because it has base cleave of 1 horde enemy. With Warp Splitting and high peril, it can cleave multiple enemies. The same concept can apply to other guns that cleave, such as the Agripinaa infantry autogun, Agripinaa braced autogun, shotguns with Manstopper, revolvers, etc. Use whatever you prefer.
Warp Splitting also improves cleave on the Mk VI combat blade heavy attacks. While it might seem like Warp Splitting has more synergy with a high-cleave melee, such as the Devil's Claw or heavy sword, most melee weapons have a hard cap on how many targets they can damage per swing. Any additional cleave just staggers targets without damage them. Mk VI blade has the benefits of moderate cleave, good damage against armor with Uncanny Strike, and high finesse damage scaling for Scrier's Gaze and Disrupt Destiny.
The downside of this build is it can't afford to take as many toughness recovery nodes, such as Quietude and Warp Expenditure. However, Soulstealer can easily refill your toughness by throwing a few Assail shards into a horde due to the high cleave.
