This build is current as of the Nightmares & Visions 2025 Spring Update.

 

This is my favorite variation of the Inferno Staff Psyker build. It's great at doing uncapped AoE damage, crowd control, and supporting the team.

 

Pros: Great AoE DPS, Special Sniping, Crowd Control, great against Gunners, support.

 

Cons: Not as much burst DPS as other dedicated boss killing builds, although tanky for a Psyker - you're still a glass cannon.

 

Weapons

 

In this build you want to use a quick moving weapon with Uncanny Strike on it. I recommend the Combat Knife, Force Sword, or Dueling Sword. Your other blessings are mostly meaningless because 90% of your damage is going to come from the Inferno Staff.

 

Your ranged weapon is going to be the Inferno Staff with Blaze Away and Warp Nexus. Don't take Penetrating Flame, if you need to do damage to Crushers just swap over to your melee weapon and start building stacks of Uncanny Strike.

 

Curios

 

For Curios I run a one stamina curio and 2 toughness curios because Psykers can really struggle with damage mitigation due to low maximum stamina and toughness, but they have plenty of toughness regeneration through your talents (which is % based, do not rely on coherency toughness regeneration). Grab Ability Cooldown, Stamina Regeneration, and Extra Toughness, Sprint Efficiency, and Block Efficiency. You're going to be using your ability whenever it's up so you really want as much cooldown reduction as you can get and stacking stamina benefits makes surviving much easier.

 

Talents

 

Right off the bat grab Mettle and Perfect Timing. With this build we are going to be critting a lot so these are going to benefit you tremendously.

 

I grab Quietude, Battle Meditation, and Perilous Combustion. I specifically skip out on Warp Expenditure and Soulstealer because we already have so much toughness recovery built into this build. Battle Meditation procs all the time since we're killing so many lesser enemies and Perilous Combustion is great for when you whip your melee weapon out to deal with a quick special or Brain Rupture a gunner that is really far away.

 

I like Brain Rupture with both Kinetic Resonance and Kinetic Flayer when I'm running Telekine Shield so that I could help the team with gunners in Havoc and Auric Maelstrom. If I'm not running Telekine Shield this point will actually go into Empathic Evasion so that I could challenge gunners by myself much easier.

 

ALWAYS GRAB PSYKINETIC'S AURA IN ALL YOUR PSYKER BUILDS. (Sorry Assail Psykers)

 

I take Seer's Presence over Kinetic Presence because the latter doesn't allow us to meet any meaningful breakpoints. Prescience would be good but we have to take a point tax to get to it and it locks us out of One With The Warp

 

Telekine Shield, Telekine Dome, and Sanctuary are this build's bread and butter. Whenever the meta has dangerous Gunners, Telekine shield is going to be good. This build can easily run Venting Shriek as well with Creeping Flames if you want to be more offensive. Just swap Kinetic Resonance for Empathic Evasion and you'll be good to go.

 

Near the bottom of the tree you want to grab the 5% Crit Passive Node on the far right and Warp Rider for some extra damage.

 

The reason why we take Solidity and Empyric Resolve is for Peril management. Nerfing our toughness recovery doesn't matter because we are generating so much of it back.

 

Warp Siphon is our keystone and here's where you could get a bit creative. I like Essence Harvest but it's not mandatory for this build, you can run Inner Tranquility if you want. You should always take In Fire Reborn when you're running the Inferno Staff and building into Warp Battery just makes a lot of sense.
