Sick of sitting in a bubble waving your staff around? Me too! Get in there!
I enjoy frantic frontline melee combat so this is a build designed to enhance Blaze Force Greatsword melee as much as possible smashed together with a classic lasgun psyker build as they are both enhanced by Scrier's Gaze. This build shines and tops the team in horde clear in regular damnation and even auric. I haven't tested it in Havoc above level 20 yet.
I selected the nodes which enhanced movement/attack speed and damage as much as possible as well as supported faster cooldown reductions to allow you to keep up Scrier's Gaze as much as possible with hopefully little to no time before the next activation. Psykinetic's Aura and Seer's Presence ensure that your Scrier's Gaze will be ready to go virtually anytime (you can watch that 25 seconds tick down even while your cooldown timer is paused during a currently active Scrier's Gaze usage).
You can pop Scrier's Gaze to go super saiyan in melee or you can use it before railing a Boss in the weakspot with your lasgun.
Any and all weakspot kills (headshots are trivial with the Covenant Mk VIII) as well as killing Disrupt Destiny targets will give you a noticeable performance boost. If you're worried about getting stacks of Disrupt Destiny due to lack of Lingering Presence, don't be: at higher difficulties, enemy density is high, disrupt targets will often be right in your face as you blend through hordes during their attacks, and with the lasgun always on ready you can snap a few headshots if the RNG gods put your target behind distant cover. With more precision bonus stacks racking up in longer intense fights, you'll only keep getting stronger!
Survivability is also via Scrier's Gaze: as things are warming up you enter combat normally only to pop your ability when you need the boost, granting toughness damage reduction, movement speed boosts (including on crits thanks to Mettle), and - most important of all - your rising peril which is being quelled due to kills during Scrier's Gaze synergising with both Warp Expenditure (toughness on peril gain) and Quietude (toughness on quell).
I took brain burst due to its utility against snipers, bulwarks, and bosses. Smite could be taken as an option with no other change to the build tree.
NOTE:
I didn't take the following nodes, because...
Warp Splitting:
Based on my own testing, with the Wrath blessing, the greatsword does just fine without it. It seems to cut through hordes like butter and only stops against crusher packs (which is hardly surprising).
Kinetic Deflection:
While this makes a psyker incredibly tanky against e.g. bosses, it adds a huge vulnerability when you're peaking in peril during melee due to Scrier's Gaze and suddenly your block becomes life-threatening. I would rather block normally and manage my stamina than risk popping my own head due to that.
