A build that came from an idea, 'how 'quick' can the Veteran make the boltgun?'. And it turns out...pretty dang quick! You can make the boltgun basically as smooth as any other weapon, with all these synergies backed in to one another.Always Prepared makes it so that you will always have at least 1 bullet in the mag when you swap to the boltgun, tactical reload increases your reload speed by 25% when the mag isn't empty, and Fleeting Fire increases reload speed by 20% when you swap back to your Boltgun. Thus, with one moment making up the difference in 'pull out time', you can dump your entire mag, get a kill or a few with your shovel, then swap back to the boltgun into the fastest reload you'll ever see on that weapon. And you don't even need to get a kill either, or an Elite/specialist kill I mean (in terms of Volleyfire). You just need a single poxwalker to make this all work out, and it feels really good.Fast attacking Munitions Shovel is also very fun, so I figured it would be a perfect 'other half' of this equation. Just heavy attack for days, knock everything over, and kill it all on the ground. That's the main reason I use smokes as well, that + Shout makes the shovel very effective as everything is knocked over, so you can just batter it all to bits in between nuking things with your boltgun. Only minor issue is ammo economy, but you can always conserve when you need to and have fun when you don't. Just make sure to keep enough to keep weapon specialist rolling.
