This is what I run when I want to have fun!
Maybe don't take this build to H40 but it is a blast on Auric!

A shotgun soldier without Weapon Specialist cheesy reload -_-

This build focuses on 3 things:
1. Ammo regen, VoC
2. Making shotgun work via a high crit chance and added bleed.
3. Utilizing upgraded frag grenades for crazy AoE dmg with 

How to do it?
1. If you have 3 nades, throw one at the closest danger - don't run with a full stack of nades because they regenerate from kills and over time.
2. Use VoC Shout off the CD.
3. Keep blasting with a shotgun, blast everything, just keep stacking bleed, and damage.
Don't worry about the range - shotgun have a nice minimum pellet count and with bleed, you are doing fine.
4. When in trouble in melee range push and spam light attack with a knife. 
5. On bosses prioritize using knife.
6. With the packs of crushers, throwing nades for bleed stacks is okay, but then using your knife.

And have fun watching as screens of enemies die in endless rivers of own blood!
