Psyker Gaming

The point of this build is use the Covenant Mk VIII Blaze Force Greatsword or Covenant Mk VI Blaze Force Greatsword as much as possible and to do as much damage as possible with it for the fun. We do that in a couple ways

  • Keeping high peril (Warp Ghost is massive for this)
  • Using the special attack with at least one charge; two if you want to one shot a horde

Melee Weapon:

Peril management is really important to get right with Psyker obviously so its important to know how it works with certain weapons. You can activate your special attack at 99% peril with the force great sword and not over heat when you throw out the slash. The weapon mark you go with wont matter much but these combos work well for the Mk VIII, my preferred option.

Horde:

  • Spam light attacks and weave in the special attack when you have a charge available. This is the same with Mark VI, it does more single target damage so youll get to your charges faster.

Elites:

  • We mostly just spam the heavy attack chain
  • Open with a special attack then heavy attack to access the overhead heavy attack chain. Or you can get the over head on the second heavy attack, use the sweeping heavy to clear some trash mobs then go into bursting the elites with the overheads.

Bosses:

  • Here you'll really want to open with the special so that you a) build some peril b) get to those high damage overhead attacks quickly.
  • The highest damage combo will be push attack into heavy attach which gives you access to the poke heavy attack which is huge damage (massive.) This is the best option, ive been consistently nuking bosses with 15k+ hits. Ive seen 30k.

Range Weapons:

Voidblast Staff

The stat distribution is a pretty nuanced thing, at least i dont have good reasons to say one way or the other. You could just roll a 60% warp resistance and it would be fine or even potentially the best for Sciers.

This staff solves problems that the force great sword suffers with. Bulwarks and range adds are the biggest problems youll run into but you can also use it to prime crushers and maulers. Peril management is a bit more tricky with the voidblast staff, make sure you dont reach 100% while charging the staff.

Light attack:

  • Use the light attack to burst down far away targets that get disrupt destiny proc
  • Range down the insanely dangerous shooters
  • Range down approaching specials and gunners that are setup far away
  • Use can also use it trigger a suppression effect on reapers while you and your team close the gap; this is a very powerful technique to abuse often

Heavy attack:

  • Use the heavy attack to open up bulwarks, stagger crushers and stagger maulers which is really important because youre creating a safe opening for you and your team to pump out damage without the risk of getting one shot.
  • When youre getting overrun and surrounded use your dodges to make some space while charging your heavy attack at the ground in front of you to get ragers or horde off of you.

Bolt Pistol

I take the bolt pistol when i use the bubble variant of this build. I do this because of peril management. The new node we take, Warp Ghost, means you have to activity quell a lot which is a lot of wasted time. So we forego the staff and take the pistol so that we can commit all of our Peril resource to the force great sword and brain burst.

Either Mark works, i think the new one is better because it gives you the option to suppress/ stagger very easily which is a very powerful crowd control tool. It also gives us the extra mobility to reposition.

Take puncture and abuse the tech where you weapon swap after throwing out a FGS special attack to make that whole wave attack apply bleed. (massive)

Blitz:

Brain Burst! With the new tree we are able to take brain burst and also we take kinetic flayer which is infinitely better now. You will notice it getting good value often.

Combat Ability:

Scier's Gaze Gaming OPTION

  • I recommend getting the mod WarpUnboundTimer so that you have an easy way to track your safe window for spamming abilities at 100% peril
  • There are two phases of Scier's gaze to keep track of in the back of your head when youre making decisions on which actions to take.

Phase 1:  This is when your peril is ticking up and when it reaches 100% it ends. During this phase you want to do your best to build Precognition Stacks, this can be done very easily during hordes, our sweeping light attacks is good to build stacks with. Hold off on using your Force Greatsword special attack during this period because that generates close to half of your peril.

Phase 2: During this phase you get 30 stacks of precognition, 20% base damage from Warp Rider and 20% strength from Unstable Power. Your Force Great Sword will be very deadly. Use what ever is appropriate but being able to spam fully charged and 100% peril voidblast secondary attacks will output a significant amount of damage.

Bubble Gaming OPTION

  • With the toughness generation while standing in the bubble youll be able to tank a lot of damage and because youre recovering chip damage, youll be able to do a lot of damage as well because you wont be on the defense so much.
  • Using your bubble to block line of sight on gunners allows you and your team to cross the map safely.
  • Wherever you place your bubble your team will probably move to it, there are a few spots in all the maps that are superior in position, putting your bubble there will incentivize your team to fight there. One of the most efficient call outs you can make in voice comms is "stack on bubble" people can see it easily and theyre incentivized to go there for the toughness sustain.
  • Bubble is less staying power as much as it is a gap closer, in just about every instance the team will lose against the enemies in a range interaction, the game is primarily a melee game, so you need to close the gap to get into melee. Bubble is amazing for that.
  • Two ways i like to use bubble to achieve this gap close
    • bubble off a long sight line so your team can cross it to get to cover or maneuver to reach the gunners
    • bubble on top of the gunners and reapers to kill them, this is somewhat risky if you dont have a good exit plan with cover, but if youre able to kill everything before they kill your bubble then you did it right.

Aura:

The choice is really up to you Seers is strong but i prefer the extra crit

  • Seer's Presence is the primary Aura choice, you must have it in every composition imo
  • Prescience is the second best for this build because crit synergies really well with the nodes psyker has access to, definitely take it if you can. Especially if theres another psyker there.

Disrupt Destiny Note:

When you take disrupt destiny youre given two options: more stacks small uptime OR less stacks big uptime. If you take more uptime of 10s then you dont need to take two stacks on headshots. If you take 25 stacks with 5s duration then you need to take 2 stacks on headshots.

GGs and dont forget, this a non competitive pve game. Make sure youre ALWAYS having fun.
