Description
So, a couple of notes.
Q: No Warp Rider, One with the Warp, or Warp splitting ?
A: Yep, exactly. With how much peril just going ham in melee quells, I find that for the most part of Scrier's Gaze I can keep myself between 1%-10% peril, and only later when the generation ramps up does it actually outpace the quelling (which is also then instantly quelled because if there are enemies you'd actively have to stop meleeing them to not quell). So yes, on account of extremely minimal uptime, I don't use peril scaling buffs in this build.
Q: How much of the damage is actually Blazing Spirit/Wildfire/Other soulfire sources ?
A: Not much! A very insignificant amount, actually. Both of these are only taken to proc Souldrinker's +5% toughness and crit. Blazing Spirit so that you actually CAN proc soulfire, and Wildfire so that you aren't always relying on crits to get it.
Q: Why the crit chance aura ?
A: Because I like more consistent toughness regen and Souldrinker uptime. It's personal preference, any of the other auras work, although I haven't tried Kinetic Presence.
Q: You might as well take assail in this build, right ?
A: If you want to, but then you can't take wildfire, which decreases how realiably you can proc and keep Souldrinker up.
Blazing Spirit is necessary on the greatsword for optimal function of the build, but the second blessing is optional. If you feel that your talents and Scrier's Gaze give you enough crit, you don't have to take crit there too. Also yes, that's a Columnus. I found that that or the Inferno force staff work best for me in this build.
Might video myself with this build sometime. Provided that my PC can handle me recording Darktide.
The FGS VIII has two important but less known mechanics.
- Starting a heavy attack from sprint makes you slightly faster. Doesn't work the other way around, you specifically have to start a sprint first.
- Heavy attacking after a held push makes your next heavy attack a stab, which penetrates more armor than just a regular heavy.
