Description
This build is a ton of fun and will have the Lexbreakers chopped to bits.
TLDR Gameplan:
Spam light attacks, aim for the head, get a whopping 35% movement speed bonus.
The name of the game here is constantly using light attacks with Atrox Mk VII Tactical Axe to fish for crits. In combat, you're going to have around 45% crit chance.
The Brutal Momentum blessing is a must have. This is what turns the axe into a heretic wood-chipper. You can carve your way through hordes as long as you aim for the head. I find aiming slightly above head level of a horde gets weakspot hits more consistently.
Combining the Agile blessing with Street Smarts allows you to dodge all day long. While the axe doesn't stagger well on its own, thanks to Concussive we can still proc all of the buffs to staggered enemies anyways.
If you're on PC, I would highly advise using a mod like Skitarius to auto spam light attacks for you, or else you might get carpal tunnel syndrome with all the left clicking you have to do.
Ranged weapon wise, it's really up to your personal preference. I like the Mk VIII shotgun as a quick special killer, and boss weakspot blaster.
Let's talk about perk choices. Rebreather is a flex pick, a quality of life choice you can switch out for something else you might want. Don't sleep on Not Far Behind , it really ties the build together. True Grit is an amazing talent, but is behind 2 perks that do not benefit this build. You don't need more cleave due to Brutal Momentum , and you aren't doing any heavy attacks. If you're running dog, Voltaic Mandibles Augment is a must pick. It boosts the dog DPS mastiffly (ha) and allows them to pounce new enemies quicker, triggering Not Far Behind . I tried Hammer of Judgement but it only results in a very small DPS increase.
