Description
as someone who barely knows anything about 40k lore, i like the death korps of krieg. i think it's cool that there is an army of WWI larpers that use shovels and high-powered laser rifles. of course, using this build and pretending that your character is a disgraced former kriegsman (if there even is such a thing) is quite fun.

let's go over what i've got for you here:
Talents
Executioner's Stance (ES) was buffed in the bound by duty update. when it's active, it now replenishes your toughness 10% every second. other than that, it's the same as it was apart from The Bigger they Are ..., which increases our ES duration to 8 seconds and outlines ogryns.
Shock Trooper will give us more uptime for our helbore, especially in ES.
Marksman's Focus (MF) will be giving us a boost to our ranged damage on weakspot kills.
friendship ended with Out for Blood, Tunnel Vision is my new best friend. with how many stacks of MF we'll be able to keep up, there is an abundance of toughness regen that we have available to us passively.
OPTIONAL SWAP
you can swap Longshot for One Motion if you wish. One Motion is a standard pick for a lot of people, but i found the difference in speed to be negligible during personal tests.

Weapons
The Munitorum Mk III Sapper Shovel
if you wish to fully commit to the kriegsman look, you're gonna have to use the shovel.
the mk III sapper shovel's special ability, Switch Mode, flips the shovel head down and reveals a very sharp, diamantine-enforced pick that can kill Crusher, Scab Mauler, Bulwark, and all their stupid fat friends with just a few charged hits.
a good "serious" alternative to this would be the tactical axe, which does almost everything the shovel does but much better, and much faster.
The Lucius MK IIIa Helbore Lasgun
there is not much to say about the helbore that has not already been said by many others, so all i will say is that the weapon special, Bayonet Attack, deals a surprising amount of damage. you can hold down the special and increase your movement speed without expending stamina. if you're in a tight spot, and can't afford the time that the weapon swap animation takes, the bayonet can sufficiently dispatch armored targets such as the Scab Rager without issue.
the reason why the MK IIIa was chosen for this build and not the MK V that the other build has is because we're leveraging more of our ranged strength with our talent selection, and therefore want a helbore mark that deals a little bit more base damage at the cost of firing and charging slower.
the MK IV uses 9 ammo per charged shot, and the MK IIIa uses 6. it also has a slowest charge time out of the three helbore marks, and the bayonet special is underwhelming to me. if you're playing havoc 40 and absolutely positively must hit those breakpoints, then sure, take it. i won't stop you. it's not a bad choice, but it is by far the most uncomfortable helbore to use.

Curios
after the bound by duty update, veteran's talent tree now allows for us to take more toughness perks without sacrificing vital talents. as a result, we can now get to over 200 toughness and health without needing to bring three +toughness curios. not that it was necessary to do that before the update, but it's just much easier to do that now.
you want a health curio because you want insurance for when you get blown up by a burster, or stuck in fire, or corrupted.
you can swap revive speed for health if you wish, though i find that even outside of havoc being able to save teammates faster kinda rocks
