the melee is compleatly up to you either dualing sword or blaze force great sword are my personal choices for either single target dmg or defence 

with greatsword take deflector to give yourself a little protection if you find yourself out of position

you want to edge yourself around 80-95% perals if you hit 100% from shooting just quell for litrually one second and you can fire again keeping your resistance and rending as high as you can get it, when you see a hoard use ability and focus on stacking blaze with wildfire on everyone with your rending being kept high they are going to take so much damage wiht at least +1 stack from even groners dying near them it adds up real fast.
