Ammoless Helbore Vet - Maelstrom Ready
 Veteran Build - Warhammer 40k: Darktide 

Helbore shot breakpoints, with crits from Surgical and Precision Strikes:
Gunners - 2 to the body, 1 to the head for scab, 3 to the body, 1 to the head for dreg. 
Maulers - 2 to the body, 2 to the head. 

Crushers - 3 to the head, 1 uncharged shot to finish. 
Bulwarks - 1 to the head. 
Reapers - 1 to the head. 

Tox bombers, bombers, snipers, trappers, flamers, tox flamers, shotgunners - 1 to the body (can kill multiple with 3 cleave). 
Muties, dogs - 1 to the head. 

Sustainability Techs:

-Crits cost no ammo + Survivalist for ammo recovery means you require no ammo drops. 
-2 stacks of Ranged Specialist before switching to Helbore guarantees a crit by the time it finishes charging with Surgical. 
-Helbore bayonet kills count for proccing Melee Specialist; you don't need to risk shooting into melee and taking stray hits. Dodge back, switch to Helbore, bayonet chaff in the head, return to melee weapon, repeat. This costs no ammo. 
-Krak grenades are spammable between 1/60s regen and Demolition Team. Use them often vs bosses for stagger/damage, and ogryn patrols in Maelstrom/Havoc.

Survivability Techs:
-Get comfortable dodging with a Helbore out, use VoC to create room for self when lining up long shots on snipers and other priority targets. Keep using the ping key to see red outlines and aim for heads; the Helbore's point of aim is directly above the front sight. Place the front post on their heads when firing.
-VoC provides over 100% toughness, meaning Iron Will and Close Order Drill both stay active for toughness recovery. 
-If you need toughness in an emergency, kill someone with one of your weapons, switch away, switch back. This procs On Your Toes for a quick 20% top up, can be repeated as necessary with a 3s cooldown.
-Stay near your team; this build can lag behind due to spending a lot of time zoomed in with Helbore for Surgical stacks. Switch to melee when reposition for blocking/shoving/running with higher mobility stats. 

General Guidelines:
-In general, this build has options to deal with every problem in the game, with good aim and positioning.
-Don't feel compelled to stay on the Helbore to shoot every single elite or special in line of sight. Trust your teammates to handle it - even if you can remove half a crusher's HP, or soften them up to near-dead with a krak grenade, you're still doing your job. Enemies that survive the helbore/krak options are easy to mop up for your axe or your teammates.
