H40 TIPS
A few tips when playing the character
- Pickpocket
- Grants near infinite ammo. Note that you just have to land the killing blow via direct or DoT attack. These can be either melee, or range kills.
- You should NEVER pick up ammo 95-99% of the time. The only reason I pick it up is if I'm completely out, and trying to get a quick kill to get me another 20-25 ammo back.
- Blackout + Pocket Toxin + Sample Collector synergy
- When running Blackout always take Pocket Toxin.
- You then get a mini-Stunstorm/Chem Nade hybrid that refills like Zealot Knives.
- Blackout regenerates on any close-ranged kill i.e. melee and gun kills.
- Sample Collector Procs are by direct melee or range kill.
DoT does NOT contribute to it.
- When running Blackout always take Pocket Toxin.
- Blackout Guide
- You have 6 Blackout Grenades with this build. In general,
- Blackout to Blast
- 3 of them will be saved for offensive situations
- Blackout to Bailout
- 3 of them will be saved for defensive/CC/retreat situations
- Blackout to Blast
- You have 6 Blackout Grenades with this build. In general,
- Cadence - Understanding the combat flow of the Hive Scum is crucial to min-maxing the class' potential. I feel like I'm learning to play DOOM Eternal all over again.
- Here is the formula I follow:
- Constant uptime on Desperado is #1 priority.
- Stimm Uptime Phase
- Take Stimm
- Desperado Timing
- Unless you start taking damage
- Spray until magazine nearly empty - DONT RELOAD
- (Triggering Desperado refills magazine for free)
- Spray until magazine nearly empty - DONT RELOAD
- Once you start taking damage or activate
- Keep shooting & reloading
- Unless you start taking damage
- Once Stimm ends
- Desperado at this point is usually still going
- Blackout Grenade into horde
- Get toxin infected enemy kills to speed up Stimm CDR
- Desperado at this point is usually still going
- Once Desperado is over we move to the next phase
- Stimm Downtime Phase
- If above 40% CD
- Use Blackout + Shoot to speed up CDR
- Best hordes to target
- Poxwalker hordes
- Flak & Maniac hordes
- Best hordes to target
- Use Blackout + Shoot to speed up CDR
- If above 40% CD
- Here is the formula I follow:
- Frontlining & Pushing
- Sprint+slide+shoot your way towards enemies and get as close as you can
- If you start to take damage > Desperado > Stimm
- If safe > Stimm > Desperado
- Sprint+slide+shoot your way towards enemies and get as close as you can
- Boss Fights
- If possible, use your Shivs special to throw your knives to proc additional DoT.
- Then blast the boss with your Autogun into oblivion.
- If surrounded, Blackout to Bailout to create an exit path.
- Clutch Revives
- You're actually a pretty good revive class with this build
- Proc'ing Desperado to revive a teammate being melted by Gunners and Reapers is a piece of cake
- Using Blackout grenades to knock enemies back and then go in for revive works too
- You're actually a pretty good revive class with this build
