Psyker Veteran Build - Mark II
This is an alternate version of the Psyker Veteran Build, this foregoes the Shriek in order to focus in Elite and Boss damage by using the Empowered Psionics talent. This change improves the main weak point of the previous build that it was kind hard to defeat Crushers and deal a reasonable amount of damage to bosses.
The Zarona Mk VI Combat Shotgun game play still is the same, always have a special shell loaded and shoot at a cluster of enemies to increase critical hit chance with Scattershot and apply bleed in all further shots. Each bleed application deals almost double the damage without it, so it's an incredible strong damage over time effect. Also about the Zarona, it takes some time to get used on how to play with it as it is kinda different than all other versions. Give yourself some time to learn how to use it then it becomes a no brainer.
The ability now we changed the Venting Shriek for the Telekine Shield with Bolstered Shield , this change allows for a better offensive and defensive gameplay as this version of the Combat Ability allows to control not only gunshots but also halts most specials enemies, allowing us to block paths and basically ignore the enemies coming from the shield direction.
One with the surprises with the Enervating Threshold modifier is how much damage it can deal to enemies, in some matches it dealt about 15% of the total damage, but it also is a little bugged as is and we can't trust its protection in all instances, specially against dogs that leap from afar.
The Brain Rupture blitz alongside the Empowered Psionics keystone makes this already powerful blitz a menace, allowing for faster sniping and elite decimator in the right spot, deploy a shield and start popping heads when needed. Don't forget to shoot the enemies if they are clustered as this is a nice opportunity to trigger Malefic Momentum.
Talking about the keystone, Psychic Leeching modifier is one talent that I was relutant to add, but it's almost three times stronger than Soulstealer and pays itself off when a group of Dreg Rager is in your face as when paired with Warp Ghost, each blitz use refunds 25% toughness.
Now to talk about the most controversial aspect of this build, the Soulblaze focused bless and talents. These talents and blessing is what enables for the constant trigger of the Malefic Momentum talent and, by many complicated interactions, is responsible for a huge chunk of the total damage dealt by this build, without those talents and blessings this build would fall apart. I've been playing and toying with this build every day since the Bound By Duty update, and would like to add that this build would not exist if it wasn't the changes made in that very update that enabled this build to exist in the first place.
So have fun and if you want to use a staffless Psycher then have a nice gameplay.
