Welcome to Maple's *Recon* Lasgun Veteran.
I would like to start off by stating that this isn't a conventional build. There's a few philosophies that this build follows that aren't typical in the current meta. I'm not trying to re-write what makes the Veteran good. Just doing what makes sense to my brain.
What do we have here?
That's a great question! This is a build that follows the key principle of using Stamina for our Magazine instead of our *Magazine*. When we have Deadshot activated while aiming down sights we are benefiting from a Critical Chance Boost. At most %25. Pair that with Shock Trooper and our Critical Chance Boost on the Accatran Mk XIV Recon Lasgun we are effectively saving 30% of our ammunition on doing more damage! This helps us stay less resource intensive for our other teammates allowing them to pick up ammo. I find that I only need to pick up 2 of the red large ammo sacks through out the entire game and that's it. As long as your are on target you can clear Elites and Specials pretty easily.
But MAPLE! (You may ask). How do we stay on target in the hellish environment of a mission?
Another great question! Executioner's Stance lights up the battle field like Christmas. It also gives you some really nice damage buffs; %25 ranged damage and %25 weakspot damage. When going up against Monstrosities and guys with heads (Most Enemies) you can rip threw a formation or said monstrosity with ease!
"I don't think this build is for me. I like to help my allies. Not just be a DPS standing in the back." -You probably.
I got you covered. Literally. Covering Fire is an amazing buff to help out allies in the thick of it. However that's just a bonus. The real Ally booster is when you pair Confirmed Kill and Born Leader. You get HUGE toughness boosting potential when you are laying waste on Dreg Gunner Dreg Rager Scab Gunner Scab Rager. All of which are your bread and butter. You farm those guys. Dog packs turn you into a god. You don't even need to aim down sights. You just activate Executioner's Stance and go ham.
"That's all well and good but what about when my allies leave me to die because I stood back to kill things?" -Still you if you somehow haven't clicked off this build yet
Another Fantastic question! Unfortunately this isn't Call of Duty. Also unfortunately someone didn't tell our team mates. I do have good news though. Your Catachan Mk IV "Devil's Claw" Sword is amazing at ensuring you stay alive long enough to get back with your allies. When you give it sprinting efficiency and pair that with it's special ability (A sort of counter that stuns everything in front of you and effectively makes all enemy attacks null) you have some amazing up time when not in your element.
I love this build. I think it works really well when paired with team mates that are okay with you getting most of the kills and are willing to protect you and point out ammo.
-Keep an eye out for the Blue stimms. They boost your stamina and increase fire rate.
-Avoid shooting Crusher. This build is bad at dealing with them. Your Krak Grenade is good at dealing with them one at a time but you certainly do not excel at it.
- Mutant are freakishly good at tanking our rounds. Try to hide behind a Psyker with lightening or dodge, dive, dip and dodge.
I'm not the best build creator and I would love to see any iterations or suggestions done. Thanks for reading this far!
