Description
This build is not intended to be the very best, mainly it is intended to be fun utilizing all of the psyker's kit giving a high skill ceiling while remaining as effective as possible.
The crux of this build is Crits which serves Assail which serves Disrupt Destiny (DD) which serves everything.
This relies on using Assail for weakspot kills on DD targets, alongside Scrier's Gaze and reaching that 30 stack mark to maximize the damage and finesse buffs and dragging them out as much as possible and fully utilizing the 10 second linger. Solidity, Empyric Resolve and Warp Ghost (to counter Empyric Resolve) alongside the ranged damage boost node to get there and Quietude are optional tools to assist with peril management and on-demand toughness regeneration.
The Force Sword is not mandatory, only Rending Strike and Crit Chance, personally I enjoy having all force weapons for flexibility but if you swap it out be sure to take Empathic Evasion for ranged defense alongside other movement talents for positioning.
Perfectionism can be swapped for Lingering Influence if you find maintaining stacks of DD to be problematic. If you do this you also no longer require Cruel Fortune.
The basic combat loop is this:
1. Activate Scrier's Gaze
2. Dump Assail shards at applicable targets, ideally groups of unarmoured trash mobs / specialists and non-armoured elites targeted by DD. Use the alternate fire for distant enemies.
(Quell peril to generate toughness and manage Scrier's Gaze)
3. Utilize the Voidblast Staff to deal with large hordes, crowd control, and to put Brittleness stacks on Carapace Armoured Enemies
4. Utilize the Deimos Force Sword for Rending Strike on Carapace Armoured Enemies and generally other single targets and use deflector for ranged defense and tanking bosses.
5. Reach 100% peril and use the 10 seconds to dump Assail once again with massive base damage, crit damage, finesse damage, weakspot damage, and cleave
Please remember that these steps are guidelines and not rules, the flow of combat changes often and the whole point of this build is to provide a tool for any situation. Especially step 5, which massively powers up your entire kit.
