I own an Arbites-issued Exterminator shotgun for home defence, since that’s what the High Lords of Terra intended.

Four heretics break into my hab-block.
“By the Emperor?” as I grab my carapace helmet and sanctioned shotgun.

Blow a fist sized hole through the first heretic, he’s dead on the spot.
Draw my bolt pistol on the second heretic, miss him entirely because it’s sanctified for intimidation and nails the neighbor’s servo skull.

I have to resort to the Exterminator shell loaded with purging promethium mounted under the barrel.
“FOR THE LEX IMPERIALIS!” the blast immolates two men in the flame, the heat setting off auto alarms across the sector.

Fix shock-maul and charge the last terrified lawbreaker.
He bleeds out waiting for the Enforcers to arrive since electro-trauma wounds are impossible to stitch up.

Just as the Lex Imperialis intended.
