H40 Heavy Las-pistol Meta Sentry Build
 Veteran Build - Warhammer 40k: Darktide 

Is your aim decent? Do you like shooting? Do you like it when the things you shoot almost instantly die? Do you hate even the mere thought of a special enemy existing within visual range of you and your team for any more than 5 seconds?

If yes, then this build satisfies the vital role of sustained, powerful ranged utility that the Veteran is expected to provide.

STRENGTHS:

• With proper playstyle accommodating crit bonuses with Desperado, Reciprocity, and stamina management for Dead Shot, you will be capable of self-sustaining ammunition at a rate that makes you capable of using NOTHING but your ranged weapon for the duration of an entire Havoc mission with minimal necessity on ammo pick-ups - Should you desire to do so.
• The current gameplay loop of ininitely spawning special hordes paired with "The Bigger they Are..." refreshes the timer on Executioner's Stance (E.S.) ability allowing for CONSTANT uptime every time you kill a special.
• Finesse bonuses and damage bonuses from Executioner's Stance, and Marksman's Focus will allow you to kill any human sized non-carapace-helmet-wearing Havoc specialist in 1-2 headshots (usually 1)
• On H40 at max stacks of Marksman's Focus w/ Ex. Stance active:
  • Kills Mutants in ~5 shots (variance depending on headshots)
  • Kills Maulers (aim focused at flak chest) in ~5 shots
  • Kills Plasma Gunners (aim focused at flak chest in ~3 shots
  • Kills Reapers in 3-4 headshots
• Burn stacks work in conjunction with damage abilities and talents provide respectable assistance with dealing boss damage (provided you hit weakspots)
• Las pistol reloads quick, has ZERO recoil, transfers between targets easily, won't punish you for missing a shot, deals insane damage, has superior mobility, and provides unparalleled ranged support over any other ranged alternative in the veteran's kit that can be provided CONSTANTLY (and I mean literally every second you aren't reloading - you should be shooting at something) throughout the entire duration of a mission.
• The ever-sustainable Krak Grenades clear hordes of carapace and assist in dealing with bosses.
• Dueling Sword paired with Agility blessing allows you to maneuver out of tight binds with sustained dodging to prevent you being swarmed by a pack of trash. It also functions as a quick-draw secondary weapon to deal with close-proximity threats and is the best melee option for dealing with crushers and bosses.
• If you can reliably hit headshots/weakspots and maintain your crit rates/MF stacks you WILL output the most damage on your team - by a lot.
• Executioner's Stance attached to Tunnel Vision and Exhilerating Takedown will provide constant uptime on toughness regeneration and reduction in damage to your toughness - making you almost entirely immune to chip damage as you are drilling heretic heads with your pistol.
• The playstyle is simple: Press M1 on the heads of heretics, dodge constantly to maintain crit stacks, press 'G" every now and again, and press 'F' every time your ability is active.

WEAKNESSES:

• Use of Executioner's Stance will slow you down - a lot, and you'll be reliant on dodging/positioning to avoid getting swarmed, which is much easier for the enemies to do while you are in "Sentry Gun mode"
• As with all ranged builds, you will have to be able to manage dealing with close melee threats and ranged threats simultaneously with superior awareness and target prioritization.
• Tox gas completely shits on Executioner's Stance and leaves you blind to the threats you must prioritize and eliminate for both the safety of your team, and upkeep on your ability. Never be in gas if it can be helped. 
• Stamina management is crucial and you can quickly run yourself dry during extended firing periods which can drain your ammunition quickly if you can't manage to sustain headshots to replenish. Additionally you can find yourself in a bind when low on stamina surrounded by enemies or if a poxbuster appears that you have no stamina left to push back. Keep a close eye on it.
