The "Blind Man's Bluff" Psyker: A Low-Aim, High-Power Guide
Are you old? Have vision issues? Can you not see the bad guys obliterating your teammates? Good news everybody! This build was made for you!
The concept is fairly simple: use abilities and ranged weapons that completely bypass the need for pinpoint accuracy. If you can't see those heretics hiding in the dark corners, don't worry—this build has your back.
Personal confession: I am super old, I wear glasses, and I’ve been hit in the head so many times that I have trouble differentiating things right in front of me (like finding the ketchup bottle in a crowded fridge). If this build can turn me into a high-difficulty powerhouse, it will have no problem helping you.
🔮 The Blitz: Assail
This ability was clearly created by the God-Emperor himself while riding a fat shark.
- Seek and Destroy: These little bad boys automatically lock onto Elites and Specialists, slice through minions, and act as your personal heat-seeking missiles of doom.
- The Headshot Engine: They naturally float toward weak points, triggering your headshot talents effortlessly.
- Unlimited Ammo: With our massive peril reduction talents, you can casually toss these shards out like candy.
- The Secret Interaction: Warp Splitting applies to these shards, doubling their piercing power so they pass through entire lines of enemies.
⚡ The Ranged Tool: Nomanus Mk VI Electrokinetic Force Staff
The light attack requires actual aiming, so ignore it. The heavy chain-lightning attack is where the magic happens.
- The Wave Method: Just hold the heavy attack and wave your mouse all over the screen until it hits something.
- Crusher Lock: It instantly stun-locks massive threats like Crushers and branches out to fry everything around them.
- Endless Lightning: Normally, this staff spikes your Peril too fast. But thanks to our massive passive reductions, you can safely chain-stun groups forever.
- Crowd Control: Equipped with Terrifying Barrage, killing a close-range target triggers a suppression wave that makes nearby shooters cower, giving you the perfect window to swap back to your sword or shards.
- The Rhythmic Reset: If you are in melee, clear a small pocket, swap to the staff, heavy-charge a target to suppress the area, and use that breathing room to start the cycle all over again. Don't use the primary attack unless you are bored.
⚔️ The Melee Tool: Illisi Mk V Blaze Force Sword
When things close in on a defenseless little Psyker, one poke in the back means death. This sword is your ultimate panic button.
- The Horizontal Blender: The Mk V is designed for flat, horizontal light sweeps. Paired with Warp Splitting, your blade gains 100% cleave and slices through an infinite number of targets.
- The Eye-Level Panic: You don't need mad skill. Just completely panic, look straight ahead at eye level, and spam light attacks at Lightning Speed. You will naturally hit their heads, instantly stacking Executor (+30% Power) and Shred (+20% Crit Chance).
- Ninja Powers: Instead of swinging a wet noodle, you become an unstoppable crit monster. Just remember to dodge-slide horizontally to the side while spamming your forward attacks to avoid damage.
- The Audio Cue Reflex: The second you hear a Trapper's click, a Poxburster's ticking, or a Hound's howl, quickly swap to Assail and fling out a few shards to let them hunt the special down for you.
🛡️ The Ultimate Ability: Telekine Shield (That You Won't Use)
Should you use your shield? Nope. Leave it alone.
- Why not use this?: Pressing your ability is for the 20-something-year-olds with twitch reflexes. By permanently sitting on your ability, you maintain 6 Warp Siphon charges, granting a massive, unyielding passive buffer of -48% Peril Generation and +24% Global Damage.
- The "Oh Crap" Exception: If a true emergency happens and you get caught in a wall of gunner fire, drop the wall and make a mad dash for cover. Tip: Throw some Assail shards into the dark hole you are diving into first. You never know what's lurking around the corner.
🧠 The Combat Loop & Peril Management
- Long Range: Throw Assail shards to thin the approach.
- Mid Range: Channel the Heavy Lightning Staff to lock down armor and elites.
- Close Range: Pull out the Illisi Mk V Blaze Force Sword and sweep forward to blend the horde.
The Peril Math: Thanks to Warp Siphon , Empyric Resolve , and Battle Meditation , you generate Peril at an absurdly low 28% of the normal rate.
Because of this, do not quell your peril all the way down! Only quell down to about 60% as needed. You want to stay at high peril to activate your massive passive scaling buffs: Warp Rider (+20% damage), One with the Warp (up to 30% Toughness Damage Reduction), and Warp Splitting (100% Cleave).
Customizing Your Defense
- The Trade-off: Empyric Resolve slashes your toughness replenishment by 30% to give you that massive 40% peril reduction.
- The Safe Swap: If you find your toughness failing you constantly on higher difficulties, drop Empyric Resolve . Replace it with Warp Expenditure or Kinetic Deflection for emergency melee blocking.
- The Peril Patch: To make up for the lost peril reduction, you can grab the generic Peril Resistance node. It's only 10%, but hey—it’s better than a kick in the teeth, and it still lets you chain-stun with your staff without stressing about peril management.
I hope this build helps the less fortunate who truly want to enjoy this game but struggle with manual ranged targeting. May the Warp be with you!
