Description
This build is focused on using the plasma gun's newest mark (M35 Magnacore Mk III Plasma Gun) to its full potential while also using Flensing Protocols to maintain as many buffs as possible. Additionally, because of Enhanced Capacitance Protocols you will be able to maintain full flensing protocol stacks very easily through using Chordclaw Strike regularly in the course of normal gameplay/horde clear.
The melee weapon can be swapped around, but note that this build takes no buffs at all for dealing electric damage/damage to electrocuted enemies so weapons like the arc maul or shock maul wouldn't be used to their full potential. I like taking bloodletter on the Cadia Mk IV Assault Chainsword to stack bleed on bosses even though it may not be optimal.
Rising Heat & Power Blast taken on the plasma gun because I mainly only use it at full charge for maximum AoE damage. You'll often be near overheating which will grant you benefits from rising heat, but does also mean you'll need to manage your heat level somewhat closely.
Some talents I want to point out to be mindful of,
- Shockline Breach Protocol - shove enemies to gain cleave. Other than that, no real synergy or tricks to melee combat other than some bottom tree talents taken along the way.
- Axial Slash - I prefer this for horde clear and I feel it works great for dealing with elites too, but feel free to swap this out.
- Capacitor Reclamation Loop - provides capacitance charge when hitting 3 or more enemies which you'll be doing all the time when using the AoE blast from the plasma gun.
- Binary Ballistics Protocol - toughness regen from getting ranged kills with the plasma gun.
- Ammunition-Restoration Pod - this is not included in the build because every 15s you get back about 3 ammo which is roughly a quarter of the ammo consumed by a fully charged shot. In other words - wait 60s and you get back enough ammo for one fully charged shot.
- Threat Detection Imperative - at 5 stacks you have 20% toughness damage reduction and each stack falls off after 8s, which means it takes 40s to lose all 5 stacks so as long as you're regularly getting ranged kills it's actually a free 20% DR.
