When Spinich learned his Kickback and Rumbler swings were heavy attacks, he had a funny idea.  Turns out, his funny idea was the best idea he ever had.

The idea is to wade directly into and through the middle of melee, taking as much aggro as possible, staggering everything within reach, restoring absurd amounts of toughness, all while swinging your big-barreled boomstick.

Let's start with that.  Kickback and Rumbler both work, with the same blessings.  Pierce lets you stagger through hordes of whatever, while Blaze Away will build up on chained special attacks for even more stagger (and will apply if you "chain" a shot right after a special).  Both weapons have identical special attacks: they don't scale with the damage stat, they are affected by all modifiers to heavy melees, they are not considered charged melees, they will apply stagger effectively to a huge number of enemies, but they are hard-capped at only damaging the first two enemies hit regardless of cleave (thus only 2 bleed targets per swing).  Rumbler's better at one-shotting far-away targets if you have time to aim, and has an extra dodge.  Kickback's better at quickly one-shotting nearby targets (especially Trappers shooting through enemies) and quickly staggering Crushers.  There's probably a lot of room to play around with traits.

The Pickaxe is taken to pull out for a single big swing against armored targets.  Mark 1a for light and heavy overhands, blessings to maximize that strike's damage, traits for bosses and crushers.

Smash 'Em! and The Best Defence are where your toughness comes from; as long as you have one guy to smack around, not much can break your toughness.  Stay Close! and Feel No Pain let you get 26% of your toughness back every swing; Too Stubborn to Die brings that to 41%.  Batter gives your swings a significant damage boost.  Go Again lets you spam your taunt a lot more.  Everything else is hard-focused on damage reduction; trying to scale a 60-damage attack won't help.

Now let's get into the meat: facetanking hordes of whatever.  Your gameplan is to be the first one in, taunt everyone, and keep moving forward to turn their backs to your allies.  As soon as you're in range, start swinging and don't stop as long as there's something to touch.  Side dodges move you forward (and stagger the horde because you're big); you're trying to get any gunners into melee as well.  Between the dodge stagger and swing stagger, you'll eat surprisingly few hits.  Ragers, shields, doesn't matter, just face 'em and swing.  If you get a chance against an armored target, you can pickaxe them in the head before immediately swapping back.  As you move, your taunt is pulsing to pick up more aggro; as you stagger, you're getting taunt cooldown back.  These hordes of human-sized melee nerds pose literally zero threat to you as long as you're swinging.

So, what is a threat?

Snipers - We've taken 3 sniper resist curios; with that, if you're at full toughness, you can tank a shot without losing hp.  You can drop this if you think you're slick, but I don't always find myself able to find room to dodge them.

Pox Bursters - You need to swap to your melee weapon and push....right?  Nah, Ogryns get DR after dodging.  When they lunge at you, dodge behind them; you can fully tank the damage with toughness and use it to launch you into their gunners.  Practice this in the meat room.  Also, bonk fire barrels for a bonus launch.

Crushers - You won't get enough DR to fully tank their overheads, but you'll get close.  Before the stacking DR buffs, it's only 50 hp of damage.  Still, try to dodge it.

Gunners - Only a threat if you don't have anyone to hit, or if they line up a big alpha strike.  Use dodging and sliding to approach until you're in taunt-stagger range.  Using taunt early for the toughness regen can also be helpful.  The curios make this much easier and reduce the likelihood of being alpha'ed.

Doggos - Kinda annoying.  Try to dodge or Kickback them, but note you can free yourself with Pained Outburst.

Trappers - Your biggest threat by far, they can be very tough to see coming in the horde.  Motivate your teammates to snipe them for you.  Shoot them if at all possible.  Throw a rock if not possible.  Use taunt stagger to interrupt their firing as a last resort.  Get a headset with good directional audio.  Dodge their net as a final last resort.

Muties - Hahaha, Spinich kids, rock for you.

Most bosses - Just alternate between barrel-bonking for bleed/toughness and swinging your pickaxe.  Spawn will send you on a fun, safe ride.

Beast of Nurgle - IT WILL EAT SPINICH

That's about it.  Show your teammates your rock at any opportunity and ask them politely to kill things.  Spinich tanks, but they must spanks.
