Description
Player Level: Advanced
Areas of Focus:
- Aiming Lasgun to Kill Targets - Headshots do more damage - firing your weapon while aiming offers higher levels of damage and consumes less ammo. Though aiming is not needed, it should be done for longer range targets. This build melts heretics, specials, elites, and monstrosities alike.
- Block Efficiency - Block efficiency on curios decreases your cost to block which increases your available stamina.
- Blocking - You can block up to three to five ragers depending on the situation without taking any damage while side-dodging to get to a safe point.
- Block Pushing - Block efficiency ensure when you need to block or block push it is available to you.
- Celerity Stem – Use a Celerity stem to shoot faster similar to the Ogryn’s Point Blank Barrage.
- Dodging - Mobility affects dodge range, so a balanced weapon allows you to dodge further using less stamina.
- Continuous Side-Dodging (three or more) - this is a hidden mechanic in the game and side dodging should be used for rager or other attacks once they are in their attack animation
This Veteran build is designed as a durable, flexible Veteran capable of handling both close combat and sustained range engagements. The building has been proven for:
- Auric Maelstrom
- Expeditions
- Havoc - Levels 20 to 30 (new build – I will test in the higher levels)
- Mortis Trials
The Tactical Axe provides reliable weak spot damage, armor penetration, and horde control, while the Recon Lasgun delivers high ammunition capacity, rapid critical hits, and consistent damage at range.
- I avoided sacrificing movement for small damage gains.
- Effective against hordes, elites, and armored targets (Melee = Flak and Carapace, Ranged = Flak and Unyielding).
- High toughness and frequent ability regeneration (Voice of Command, Duty and Honor, and Only in Death Does Duty End).
- Mobility remains useful for dodging, repositioning, and escaping pressure (balanced weapons without sacrificing Mobility and Block Efficiency on Curios).
- The build provides reliable damage without depending on a single weapon – This build provides a higher level of damage than other Lasgun builds. The Tac Axe can stop muties using your special attack if timed correctly.
- Reliable damage without depending on a single weapon.
- Strong melee and ranged balance (Close Quarter Killzone, Onslaught, Weapon Specialist, Exploit Weakness).
I purposely keep both weapons balanced instead of treating mobility as a dump stat. Extra damage means little if I cannot dodge specialists, disengage from a bad fight, close distance, or reposition quickly.
Cons against the building
- Ammo consumption is not renewed using Shock Trooper (Critical Hits with Las-weapons consume no Ammo.)
- This build requires you to stay in melee up to 60% to 70% of the time.
