Description
My shotty scum build has one goal in mind. To empower the shotgun to usability in an auric without feeling like you are handicapping your team. I made this build with the previous combat shotgun in mind. With the release of the new shotgun I feel it will synergize well. The focus of this build is to maximize Desperado uptime. The biggest weakness is undoubtedly managing reloads, which is why I (maybe controversially) decide to use the reload speed perk for the shotgun. Make sure you are always managing your speedloader perk well and a certain flow begins to appear.
Gameplay Loop for build is to use desperado to gain picks and lower the cooldown of your stims using stimm supply. (it should be easy as you can get multiple kills a shot on your shotgun), Then you use your stimms to lower the cooldown of desperado. It's a bit dicier on lower stacks of Chemical Dependancy but by about 3 stacks the loop should feel natural. A big complaint of mine is that I feel as though I am pigeon-holed into the Longer Lasting talent which becomes a hinderance by your third and fourth chem dependancy stacks.
The reason stimms aren't maxed out is because I've found it to be pretty tight to build stacks. Especially if you are playing with a strong team who eats up all the kills. If that blasted Longer Lasting talent wasn't a forced take since the ammo regen aura is so important. Then the flow would be so much smoother. But alas. I also reccomend the numeric cooldowns mod since it helps me figure out how much hustle I need to make a dependancy stack.
Anywho, Definitely enjoy. I wouldn't consider this build "Meta" by any stretch of the definition. But I have made it work through Aurics and felt like I was holding my own. Also there is something viscerally satisfying about blasting giant chunks of a horde to smithereens. Definitely use your sights as I've noticed a big improvement in performance that way. Also definitely make sure that you are aiming for headshots as well.
