Description
I've seen lots of variations on this in the wild but here is the build I've landed on for just optimizing "hell yeah" on zealot.
Spam your weapon special on the chainaxe for zoomies, and with the Holy Tools node now, you don't lose much by taking it -- imo headtaker is plenty for buffing your damage. Don't discount going fast, it is very useful for getting back for a cozy rez for your pal but even more importantly it's WICKED.
This also brings nodes from Fatmangus for survivability, if you really don't want that you can ditch them for other stuff but I like the balance it strikes, you are pretty tough to bring down with them (Restoring Faith + Faith's Fortitude + Bleed for the Emperor ).
You can flex out whatever weapons on this, it works pretty well with the thunderhammer too if you pick up Unfaltering , but I do recommend something with Rev it Up for maximum hell yeah. I personally have a lot of fun with the new Krourk Mk IV Double-Barrelled Shotgun + knives, but I've had good success running Laspistol with whatever other grenade you want, too.
Some notes on playing it -
- Desperation and Punish Impiety are mainly for the chainaxe specifically, because the push stab is so good for hordes. But they're also decent on their own.
- If you do keep the chainaxe, DO spam your weapon special even on trash. If it dies early you get unlocked from the animation + you can always dodge out of it if you're in a bind. It is nifty for quick enemies because you catch them with the special and they move out of range, they still take all the damage (Mutants, Trappers, Dogs, etc).
- Critical hit chance on this build is actually not great, so that's why Pious Cut-Throat .
- For Curios I prefer 2x Stamina 1x Toughness but you can really honestly do whatever. I recommend at least one +3 Stamina though.
