Revolver allows to kill most specials and elites in around 2-3 head shots, while allowing you to stagger dogs out of allies if they managed to mount your allies. If there's a veteran in the party, you shouldn't need to be as conservative of your ammo so just fire away at that rager barreling down on you. Don't forget that your ult replenishes yours and allies toughness as well, so if you see allies in trouble or better yet, just before they get into trouble, use your ult to kill the high priority targets and heal them. You have 2 charges so just spam away.
