I am a former VT2 solo legend player currently farming damnation with randoms :)

Equipment

Power Sword: Great at dealing with armor & horde clearing. Mobility is an issue, so try not to waste your stamina too much, it's OK to walk instead of run everywhere! You'll need to push hordes and dodge in order to charge the sword (which you should be doing as much as possible).

MG XII: After running bolter for 90% of my playtime on vet, I change my tune. The bolter is better only in ways that are irrelevant to the run's success and dramatically worse at all the relevant things a Veteran should be doing. You do not need the armor pen on ranged - use your power sword, and grenades to stagger armor during a horde. Bolter is slow to pull out, so you will be letting specials leak in if you are pre-occupied. Flak and Maniac for breakpoints, Opening salvo also contributes to one shotting troopers

Curios

some dude ran the numbers and toughness is best on vet but you'd run hp on every other class. if you want, you can swap out the wound for more toughness. toughness regens + HP gets shredded very fast by everything in damnation, more toughness = more of a dmg buffer for your HP which isn't regenerable

Feats

At Arms Length: The best regen toughness regen skill. Pairs insanely well with Camo Expert. Great synergy with veteran's gameplay at high tier difficulty where you should be somewhat in the backline.

Demolition Stockpile: Grenades are an insanely useful tool, so having an extra 20+ per run that you otherwise wouldn't have is super powerful. Use grenades to clear enemies on downed teammates and clear/stagger enemies your team can't immediately deal with.

Demolition Team: At a certain point once you play enough, you and your team don't need the highlights for specials anymore. It's easy enough to predict where they're coming from. Instead, take this feat so that you and your team have extra utility just in case.

Camo Expert: One of, if not the best perk in the game. If you just stand still, you're just invisible as long as you are somewhat by your teammates. Insanely good for clearing out the massive firing lines in T5. Also great for revives in tight spots.

Frag Storm: We're only taking this feat because the other two are pretty bad. Deadshot will constantly leave you with no stamina. On T5 this is detrimental as you will have to often take out your gun while kiting things to kill the troops that are pelting you and your team, once you switch back to your melee you will have no stam to deal with a large horde.

Counterfire: Easy way to keep Volley Fire up. You should ideally want to be clearing rooms full of riflemen in seconds, with counterfire you can do that. All specials and troopers will die instantly if you are positioned right. You can keep it up long enough so that your next Volley Fire is ready occasionally.

If you prefer Sustained Fire, it's also a good feat as well. It's preference, but I personally do not need the toughness regen when I have close to 300.
