This build is designed to be an all-rounder AND being a support. You can use your shield continuously and avoid open-field combat, thanks to the regeneration it provides. This allows you to skip defensive toughness perks and focus on damage and utility. Just place your shield in front of the gunner and shoot as if they don't even exist. You can also use it to deal with melee enemies, given the substantial toughness regeneration. Additionally, here's a quick tip: you can place it on the Nurgle Beast, which will prevent its vomit attack both from inside and outside, making the fight trivial.
Your staff has significant peril reduction and charge rate, allowing you to constantly spam maxed attacks. Hordes are easily dispatched with one shot, most elite enemies require just one shot on head, two on body (one when you crit, which you often will), and crushers take three. When aiming for the head of packs, you can guarantee a critical hit every two shots. The staff can also stagger low-level enemies when fully charged. Essentially, you can put up your shield and shoot everything without worrying about your peril meter.
Since your shield takes care of all ranged threats, you don't need to carry a force sword and can focus entirely on mobility and damage. This sword allows you to quickly eliminate armored enemies, making you effective against virtually all types of enemies. A charged attack can one-shot all specials and two-shot mutants and all other elite beside mauler and ogryn(with max-dmg and +25% maniac you can one-shot mutant on crit, wich you have plenty). Don't hesitate to use it, you're a true all-rounder.
Brain Burst is included to deal with certain enemies, such as dogs or hidden foes. Sometimes, the issue isn't the damage but the lack of vision. Also, with maxed Warp Siphon (which should be active most of the time), you can one-shot all specials, even flamers, who often require two shots.
As for the trinkets, you're free to use whatever you prefer. You don't really need specific perks for them.
You'll need both perks for Voidstrike (trust me, this combo is the best; crits are overrated since you can crit once every two attacks). It allows you to vent peril quickly and fully charge your attacks.
For the sword, only Uncanny Strike is necessary, the second one is your choice, and Shred is a very good option.
That's it! Have fun providing amazing survivability to yourself and your team, controlling every fight, annihilating enemies who can't fight back, and still being an amazing melee duelist. You've got it all !
(Disclaimer: Avoid getting hit, you're still a nerd with a stick. Hide in your bubble and dodge.)
