Rapid Fire Brain Burst
 Psyker Build - Warhammer 40k: Darktide

This build is about Brain Burst as your main tool of dealing with tanky enemies and spreading burn stacks to targets with Perilous Combustion for a small bump in add clear along flame staff synergies if you want to go down that route, tho most weapon combos work.

you can also use this build to spam Brain Burst with Kinetic Resonance due to the +75 charge speed of BB for 10s when you cast your combat ability, this case being Bolstered Shield's 2 charges for a total of 20s if used again after Kinetic Resonance runs out. Combined with Empowered Psionics gives you 50% cast time reduction and to BB whenever you kill any Elite for a guaranteed Empowered Psionics if you pair it with Overpowering Souls.

all that together lets you cast brain burst very fast if you combine Kinetic Resonance with Empowered Psionics.

(Tho you can layer them) On top of that you gain 0% peril with BB when you have Empowered Psionics plus 50% damage. this means you can stay at 99% peril (as long as you have 1 stack of Empowered Psionics) and still keep using brain busrt kill Elites and refresh Overpowering Souls to have a loop of brain burst going.

       This means you get

• +50% damage, 50% reduced cast time +75% faster charge time on BB and no need to quail Brain Burst resulting in very high up time and gaining max damage from Warp Rider's +20% Damge buff based on curent peril along Kinetic Presence for a passive +10% additional damage. to Elites and Specialist.
   
• Note. you can brain burst at 100% Peril if you have 
• A. 1 stack of Empowered Psionics and it kills a Elite to refresh it therefore not generating Peril above 100%
• B. 2 stacks so if you BB a non Elite or a Elite that takes 2 bursts to kill it leaves you on 1 charge and not generating any Peril above 100%.

!!!DO KNOW THAT THIS IS HIGH RISK AND WILL GET YOU DOWNED IF YOU BB A NON ELITE AT 1 STACK OF EMPOWERED PSIONICS WHILE ON 100% PERIL, 2 stacks gives you 1 free card on blowing up, and 2 free cards on 3 stacks
 

• Other thing to note is you can keep you peril at 99% by tapping your mouse to start brain bursting when you have atleast 1 stack of Empowered Psionics keeping your peril stuck at whatever peril you have, this also mean you will need 1 Force weapon to help you get to 95-99% Peril when you have stacks of Empowered Psionics as your BB wont give you any Peril.

As for weapons, a good rule of tumb is run one weapon for horde clear and one weapon for utility/single target.

Below is a list of horde clear weapons for the melee and ranged catagory that i mostly use.

• For Melee: MK V Force Sword, MK IV Dueling Sword, MK IV Devil's Claw Sword or Chain Sword 
• For Ranged: Flame Staff, Trauma Staff. Or Voidstrike Staff if you wanna ride the META

To synergize the weapons above, here are some options for either single target or utility

• For Melee: MK IV Force Sword, MK IV Dueling Sword or Chain Sword
• For Ranged: Surge Staff, MK VII Headhunter Autogun, MK VIIa Recon Lasgun and Voidstrike Staff for META

• Note. Force Swords are general good option as it can roll with the Blessing: Deflector (good synergy with Kinetic Deflection on the skill tree and Block Efficiency on the Curio ) and have overall good damage on the special attack, they also generate Peril for your brain burst.

• Other things to note is that Surge staff is great for the times when you find yourself on range with poxbursters as they are easy to deal with due to the high burst damage it offers, also good for killing Elites to gain extra Empowered Psionic stacks for your Brain Burst

• Dont forget to swap to one of your weapons after you brain burst to cancel the recovery animation of BB, then instantly swap back to brain burst and charge it on the next targeted elite for maximum uptime and DPS. 
• you can also cancel the recovery animation by casting Telekine Shield.

• As a Bonus, if you are feeling extra fancy as we Psyker do, you can hotswap to either the Surge, Voidstrike or Trauma staff after your brain burst and weave in one normal shot for a potential lucky brain burst and extra damage, tho not a whole lot, but it looks cool.
