Overview
Just keeping notes on my tests for veteran post-patch, I believe veterans role is to handle elites/specials (especially gunners) and to 'fix' comps by applying a general all-around kit to cover a party's weaknesses, Its possible to optimize for other areas but not to the point where i think another class is simple better for it,
The goal is to hit headshot breakpoint while still trying to get as much passive utility as possible without compromising base stats, This is not meant for specific weapons or specific playstyles, plug and play,
Self-sufficient , but clutch potential is in rushing revives, not in being able to solo every single encounter ingame,
Precision Strikes vs Bring It Down!
Bring It Down preferred, but rank 3 Deadly Accurate on lasgun mandatory for Damnation Gunner 1shot breakpoint,
Can also rely on Competitve Urge but i prefer a functional build without buff rng,
General Notes
+50% res/assist speed very strong for Auric, Damage reduction + shout clutches,
High mobility shovel + stagger special abuse for Carapace utility. Chainsword/Power better if you want to be more all-around but your psyker/zealot should have it thanks to your permastagger and +40% damage (applies in 1 special),
Kraks fine but frag stagger kills carapace just as well due to the CC/it proccing skullcrusher if you have the shovel out (dont tell Fatshark) and has much better horde utility. Dont like giving up supression immunity for it but Precision/Bring should be fine provided you still hit the gunner breakpoint,
+25 toughness minor with health/health/toughness relics gives you a solid 240/240 with shout active,
