For melee, Its this or a chainsword in my eyes. Some like the tactical axe, I'm not one of them, but there are people who do aurics with a very similar build using it, so if you're a big tac axe fan, there you go. For this particular build I prefer the power sword (either mk works as long as you have at least lvl3 cycler), as the pistol (without good blessings and perks, and without the support of the stealth and marking trees) Is a bit less comfy vs Maulers specifically when unbuffed. That said chainswords work fine and are easy to recommend here, esp since we run kraks with nade regen, and you'll find you often have stacks of buffs up when those crusher / mauler packs show up - and if they don't, hey, thats what kraks are for.
Skill swap out options are getting longshot - no need for volley adept as we reload our guns without actually reloading them due to the bottom right keystone. Middle aura is the better aura and you can grab it instead, but right path has the coveted Agile Engagement, which is fantastic on higher difficulties due to the necessity of swapping weapons a lot. Similarly, you can run stealth+surpise attack+hunters resolve with Grenadier instead of shout here, giving you more offensive and anti armor options, but for a build without the team utility of the marking keystone I like to run shout for comfort.
